  1. Hey just wondered how everyone was doing. I was banded on 4/19/10. I have lost about 35 pounds (which I am soooooo grateful for) and have just started having a problem with hair loss. Has anyone else experienced this? I thought I would have to loose like 100lbs quickly to loose my hair. Also do most of you feel like you have hit restriction yet? How many fills have you had? Sorry for all the questions but I just am struggling a little bit because I don't feel like I have lost enough weight, I don't have restriction and now my hair is falling out!
  2. Hey ms.rhonda and teach! I had my surgery on April 19 and have also lost about 35 pounds. My hair has just started to fall out in the last couple of weeks. I am surprised about that because I didn't think that 35 pounds was enough weight loss to cause my hair to fall out. I am just going to start being super careful with my protein intake. Do either of you feel like you have "restriction?" I don't and can eat anything and my surgeon's office will not let me come in any sooner than 6 weeks for a fill.
  3. I have been banded since April and have noticed the same thing! Not only are my periods super painful, I also get the worst mood swings with my period which never used to happen! I have read on other posts that hormones are impacted with weight loss and am interested if anyone knows anything more about this. My Dr. also says no ibuprofen which sucks because that was the only pain killer that worked really well.
  4. Hi, What size band do you have? Do you have the 10cc or 14cc band? I have the 14cc band and I think it is standard for it to come with 3cc in it at the time of surgery. Mine is the AP Large Lap Band and has a 14 cc capacity. There is also the AP Standard Lap Band which has a 10cc capacity. The average fill level for the AP Large band is 7.8 cc after one year. Find out exactly what size band you have. The nurse you talked to on the phone probably has no idea why the Dr. put in the size band you have.
  5. Hi Everyone! I was banded on 4/19 and am feeling great! My stomach is still really swollen and I have pain if I laugh but other than that I am doing great. I even went to Target and Ikea yesterday. Congratulations on everyone's surgeries! Cheers to this new journey we are all on!!
