    Recently Divorced?

I'm doing great actually! not quite sure what you mean by "my encounter"? I've been divorced for over 4 years now and I'm loving it!

    Recently Divorced?

Yep. Been there done that! And your absolutely right! No need to sit home, life goes on and there is light at the end of the tunnel. Congrats on your upcoming surgery. I'm having mine on the 17th. I'm excited to start my new and improved life! Good luck with with everything and keep in touch on how it all goes for you! Do you have to do a pre op diet? I don't. A lot of people on here have to do it like a liquid diet and I'm so happy I don't have to. Have you been dating at all since your "newly" single?

    Recently Divorced?

Well, it looks like you posted this a ways back, but I figured I'd post and see how things are for you now that its this many months later??? I divorced 4 years ago (separated 5 years ago) from an Army Vet. One thing I can say for sure is that there's definitely light at the end of the tunnel! It's a hard thing to go through for anyone, especially when there are kids involved, but life for me at this point is really great. We were also married for 15 years. It's a long time, but once things calm down I think many would agree that as time passes, you do start a new life. How are things going for you now that you are back with your children? And how about since you've been back on track with your band? Did you meet your goal? I've dated, but find that it is definitely a different experience with kids and all these years later! How about for you?

    A thread for Single Bandsters

Hi! My name is Jen, I am 38 and live in central NJ. I've been divorced for 4 years (with separation- 5 years) and have just dated since then but not found "Mr. Right". I have decided to take a break from dating so I can focus on me & my children. I'm finally scheduled for May 17 (yay!!!) I am very happy with my life and co-parent with my Ex-husband since he moved out 5 years ago. I have a great support system which includes my family and friends. I too look forward to meeting more single bandsters!:eek::thumbup:

For the singles here... Just do this..

I am 38, I am a mom of 4 kids, getting banded on May 17, I am about 5'4, and I live in the central NJ area. Open to a long term relationship. Contact me via private message...:wub::wink:
  6. Thanks for the message! From your pics you are an inspiration to me! You look wonderful! Im sure I will have quite of few questions and will take you up on your offer to help out! Thank you for your support!

  7. Yes! Went to the pre-op consult last week where they gave us all the info and we signed consents and all that! My Dr. does not have a pre-op diet (at least for me)! I'm happy about that. I have been trying to start eating my food without drinking until a half hour later. It's hard for me. They also are docs that don't want you to drink soda or carbonated drinks any more, so I've been weening myself off of diet soda. What type of diet do you have to be on post op?

  8. Yes! Will do. I'm excited and nervous at the same time! I just heard from the Dr.'s office that my insurance approved it. I've been going through this process since Aug. 2009!
