GOOD MORNING!! Well my last post was me sobbing about not having lost hardly any weight so far...blah blah blah. Well I received my 3rd fill on 8/16 and have lost 7 pounds! That's half a month! Stepped on the scale and FINALLY reached my short term goal. I'm officially in the one hundreds at 198.8. YAY me!! What's changed since my last post is well the fill of course helps a load. So I don't eat as much AND i have been on the treadmill for 30 minutes 4 times a week. I don't think I will ever be doing more than 30 minutes as I hate to work out and have to push myself everyday. But seeing these results helps me with that extra push.....new dilemma.....spending money on clothes that fit better. hahaha There's always something! :tt2:

Ok....I know that everyones different. I have been reading through blogs trying to find someone with my situation but cannot find them. I had my surgery 5/15 (exactly 3 months yesterday). I have only lost a total of 10 pounds since surgery. I am not eating terribly. I watch what I eat but I don't feel that fullness that many people have been experiencing. I havent realy been working out due to my personal schedule. But even if I thought at least more weight would have been lost... So yesterday was my third fill and I am hoping that this will show some improvement. I had half a sandwich and felt good...not full but good. I had the other half for lunch and a very small dinner......I even managed to go on the treadmill for 30 minutes. I truly hope that the weight will start coming off. If anyone has any suggestions or maybe has had the same experience at one point PLEASE let me know that I'm not alone. Thanks!

No girl I don't mind....I got approved for most of it with both Care Credit and MedChoice...I had to pay $2500 out of pocket.

At Strax you go every 4-6 weeks....at least for the first two....not so sure about afterwards

They include 2 fills for free. The rest I believe are $250 each, (not so sure on the price since I didn't get it straight from them). I get my first fill on on 6/28. Make sure you write down your questions cause as soon as the doc comes you may forget them. lol It's just he is very quick and to the point so it makes you forget what you were going to ask. :-) Let me know how it goes!

Hi MellBell....I live in South Florida and also self paid. I had it done 2 weeks ago with Strax Rejuvenation for only $10,500. Everyone at the clinic is super nice and Dr. Choi is very good. They have a free consultation so I recommend you try it out.

I only took 3 days which inludes the day of surgery. I mean everyone is different. I was lucky not to be in so much pain and I was prepared with what foods I had to take to work.

I got banded today at 11:00 am at Strax Rejuvenation. Everything went great! The procedure itself was 45 minutes. When it was over there was some discomfort but they quickly gave me some pain medication. The rest of the day went fine. Not much pain and I walked on the treadmill for the gas at only 1 mph but it helped. The only thing I didn't like out of the whole procedure was that I had huge dark bruises. Apparently they nicked a blood vessel which caused the bruising but it's nothing to worry about. I hear the second day is worse but I got my trusty Gas X strips and my Oxycodone so I'm good to go. I'll be posting pics up shortly with my official before pics. I am looking foward to a healthier, skinner more confident me!!

Ok so today started off good. Took my pills and drank my shake which I had to add coconut oil to and it tasted great! Then a fews hours later the hunger kicked in.....urgh I thought those appetite suppressants where supposed to work! For lunch I did not have a blender so I stirred all the ingredients and it was gross. The coconut oil was clumpy and it was difficult to swallow.....dinner was great 'cause I had a small steak and mixed veggies. I need to really think of a way to make lunches shake better......oh well. I have an appoinment on Saturday which will be my next posting. Hopefully I would have lost some weight.

  12. Hi Jonelle, Yeah I am lucky that I have her to share this experience with. She's been super supportive and so has my mom. I'm glad you have your family to support you as well. You'll be one of the skinny sisters soon! Tomorrow I start the pre-op diet and I have moved up my surgery from the 28th to the 14. So the process officially starts tomorrow.

Yay 2 days til my pre-op diet....excited about loosing some weight and being closer to my surgery date....not so much excited about the starving part . So I was given Curcumin, Citrin Plus, YES tablets and Right Whey meal replacement shake. The first week is a shake in the morning and in the afternoon and a small dinner (6 oz fish, chicken or meat w/a small salad, 3 different veggies and white vinager). The week of my surgery is all liquids, (shakes for morning, lunch and dinner). My next post will be on 5/3 to write how my first day went.....the nutritionist said I'd be a grouch.....let's see about that.

  15. I'm also having my suregry at Strax and I'm so happy to find other people on here who have one through the process with them. Everyone in the office is super nice. Dr. Choi was as well but was a bit rushed....he was to the point and was there if I had any questions. All in all it's been a good experience so far. I start my pre-op diet on 5/3 and my suregery is scheduled for 5/14. I am really excited and nervous!!!!

  22. Hi! I'm having my surgery on May 28.....My nutrionist wants me to start my pre-op diet on May 3...That's like 3 weeks. Has anyone else had to do it that long?
  23. I'd love to keep in touch. My pre-op diet starts on May 3rd. The nutritionist is giving me shakes along with some pills to suppress my appetite. I get to have a small dinner everyday except for the last week which will be all liquids. Im kind of looking forward to this too since I am supposed to loose some weight with this. What were you told to do on your pre-op diet?
