  1. I was told that drinking carbonated beverages would stretch out my pouch and could cause my stomach to get a ulcer. Well I know that the ulcer thing is true because before I had the band I had stomach problems because of carbonated beverages and caffine, both will wreck havoc on your stomach. My doctor told me that after a fill you stomach swells a little so thats why the liquids and puree's for 2 days. Your stomach needs to heal. I have seen first hand what not following the rules has done to another bandster. A man I worked with had lost close to a 100 lbs then started drinking the soda's again and snacking between meals. He even bragged that he could eat almost anything he wanted. Well guess what, he has gained most of the weight back. I don't want to go down the path he has. I love feelin good again and I refuse to give that up. I feel a 100% better since giving up soda's and I really don't miss them at all. I wish you all the best and I hope you are successful with your weight loss.

It will all get better. Once you get all this straightened out you will be glad. Right after my surgery I thought What have I done, but now I would do it a million times over. I have had my band for 7 months now and have lost 65 lbs since I got the band and 92 lbs since starting the program. It's very emotional when you are just a few days out from surgery but it does get better.
  3. Hi Stephanie171, I have had 4 fills and we are thinking I'm at my sweet spot. I really don't get hungry between meals and I have to remember to eat because if I get busy I will forget since I'm not starving anymore. I still have to remember not snack when my husband is having his sweets. But I really don't want anything. I hope you have found your sweet spot since a lot of these post were some months ago.

I had my surgery at Kaiser South San Francisco over 6 months ago. I was just wondering do you ever have an appointment with you surgeon again or do you only see the physicians assistant from here on out. My surgeon did the first 2 fills and now his PA does them? Just wondering. If anyone can give me an answer I would really appreciate it.:frown:
  5. It might be that he is hitting scar tissue instead of the port. The PA that filled mine mistaked the scar tissue for the port the first time he did one of my fills.

I was wondering if anyone has had the skin that is over the port become like molded to the port. There is an indention and it looks like it is molded to the port and I can see the definition of it.
