  1. I was unfilled last year from 8 cc to 6.6 cc in my 10 cc band, because I became pregnant. I went in yesterday for my first fill in almost two years. I have a MAJOR slip. It almost looked like a mushroom, lapped over the band. They said it is repairable with 2 weeks liquids and 1 week mushies. Has this happened to anyone? I need some support! I feel so sad and defeated!
  2. You don't even have to tell me what you mean by your last post Kat - you are eloquently spoken, mature, on this forum for the right reason, and sometimes the TRUTH is too hard to hear from certain people... Hang in there girl...again, thanks for a great couple of posts! Us bandsters need to stick together IN THE POSITIVE direction and not negative.
  3. Kat - thanks so much for your great e-mail to me. It really helped. I too have been drastically cutting my calories and I find that I actually do BETTER when I eat more. You probably lost inches because you stuck with your workouts, like me - maybe we are gaining muscle. Thanks again for a great pep talk!!!
  4. by the way, if you view my public profile - you can really see that I am a chick and know what I am talking about with the women's multivitamin. HA Have a good evening Marissa!!
  5. If you take a sufficient multivitamin, there shouldn't be much more that you are needing other than your daily Protein and calcium intake. I totally recommend GNC's multivitamin for women. It has EVERYTHING you need in it and more. You can get it in liquid or get a pill-cutter to take it. It is in a purple box with a pink flower on it - AWESOME!
  6. I am a female - to be honest, I don't know why I cannot get my pic to come up!!! I am not sure about that vitamin, but since you are younger it might be folic acid, calcium, or magnesium. Sorry I wasn't much help doll.
  7. My doc told me just to take a chewable multivitamin. However, I was told by someone that taking B-12 would help my skin's elasticity. By the way, Marissa, you are gorgeous!!
  8. Hello everyone, I was banded about 5 months ago (I guess)... anywhoo, wanted to ask what some of your sample menus were - SUNRISE TO SUNSET...bring them on me. And, give me some good little bandster recipes if you wanna. I love the eggbeater egg cups that you make in the mini muffin tins. :hungry:
  9. I PB all of the time, but with yall's helpful tips, I am really going to be watching myself. All I can get down right now is mushies and liquids because I am so tight. I cannot eat solids and I am on my fourth fill. Crunchy stuff, I do fine with - but bad crunchy stuff, carbs, cornchips, cheeze its, etc. I cannot do carrot sticks, deli meats, or meats period - I got a salad from Chipotle the other night and it was a complete waste of 8 dollars.
  10. I looked this up for you - let me know if it helps... http://fitstep.com/Library/Questions/Questions/Fatloss/do-weights-or-cardio-first.htm
  11. Rolls are a no-go for me too!! I spent the whole dinner one night in the bathroom after I couldn't get the seaweed and sticky rice down. No fun at all.
  12. Anyone interested in coming - it is in Richardson at 7:00 this Thursday, the 1st. This will be my first meeting and I am looking quite forward to it. Hit me up if you are down...avery_atkins@yahoo.com
  13. Hey everyone - I am now at a 2.4 cc in a 4.00 cc band. I had my most recent fill about two weeks ago. I cannot hold down solids - only liquids and mushies. Might I be too tight? Whenever I eat solids, no matter how microscopic the bite, it feels like I have the WORST heart burn and that I need to vomit up the food as soon as possible in order to feel relief. Of course, I do not force myself, but there are times that I want to! I do have quite a bit PBs on solids, but at the same time, if I were too tight, I couldn't hold down mushies could I ? I am so confused...I can each crunchy things like corn chips or low fat wheat thins without any discomfort, but carrot sticks, deli meats, healthy stuff - that is a no-go. I know I cannot eat mashed potatoes, milkshakes, and Soup for the rest of my days and expect to lose weight... HELP!!!
  14. Ladies - you have helped alot - and Three Beauties, you are sweet, but my 48 pound loss has been since pre-op, so technically, I am only down about 36. I am not complaining, don't get me wrong...it is just that my boyfriend has been out of town for a whole month and I really busted my butt to try to lose as much as possible, and it didn't work in my favor. Maybe I have hit a plateau..
  15. Kat - I too have been stuck at 208 FOREVER - what can I do????
  16. Hey ladies and gents! - I need some advice. I am an October Bandster and only have 8 of my 17 pounds left to lose on my Valentine Challenge. However, I have noticed that since my fill almost two weeks ago, that I am stuck!!! Now, I did start working out 4-5 times a week, so maybe I am gaining muscle, but the scale is NOT budging and I am getting frustrated. I keep my calories at 1200-1500 a day, and I am a scale weigher every morning. Am I doing something wrong???
  17. Thank you again for the info - I have had alot of PBs and sometimes I force them on myself because the food hurts in the pouch. Is this normal? My friend is about to be banded with Dr. Fox tomorrow!!!
  18. How many fills did it take each of you to get to your Sweet Spot? I am truly becoming discouraged!!!!!!
  19. I have had two fills since I had my surgery on October 12th - I have a 4 cc band and right now there is 1.8 cc in the band (almost half of its capacity). Last night i went to Outback with some friends and had a center cut filet, sweet potato, and ceasar salad and some of the brown bread. Is it possible that i could have stretched out my band, or is it time for another fill this soon??
  20. Thank you very much for the informative information, but what on earth is a PB?
  21. How do you know if you are too tight?? Solids cannot go down? I have thrown up 5 times in the past week because things couldn't go down, yet the bottom of my stomach is STARVED - I can tell...is this normal?
  22. This isn't supposed to be fast, so just take it one day at a time. I have lost about a pound a week since my fills and I get frustrated too, but I know I am losing rather than gaining and if I wasn't here, I would be in the drive thru line somewhere totally binging!!!
  23. I have a 4 cc band - and I have 1.8 cc in it already. Maybe I am just a big eater! Isn't that what got me here in the first place?
  24. Do any of you follow this program?
  25. Hey guys - I got banded in October of 2006 and I have already had 2 fills because I can still eat loads!! How many fills does it take the average person to get to their Sweet Spot? I am beginning to think I spent $15,000 on a surgery that cannot help me, so I am sortof frustrated. :hungry: ~Always HUNGRY!
