  1. I was banded Oct 29 and lost 42 pounds easily, but I too am stuck. I'm scared to add fluid due to food occasionally getting stuck.
  2. It's not cheating. You had to work hard to get approved for the surgery and you work hard on your pre-op diet and your post-op diet. I didn't tell anyone but my immediate family. We have all been on a diet and we all know how everyone watches anything you put in your mouth if your on a diet. It is hard enough adjusting to your diet without scrutiny. There will also be people who believe it is bad for you and if you ever get sick or have a tummy ache it will automatically be the bands fault. Tell everyone later but just adjust to your diet for now.
  3. I too have Uhc and I was denied and had to go to 2nd level appeals. I had multiple requirements that I had to meet and they denied twice even though I met all requirements. I had to write a letter detailing how I met the requirements and resubmit 49 pages of documentation to my husband's HR dept. They reviewed it and uhc claimed they had not received documentation on my 5yr wt history even though it had been sent multiple times and their rep verbalized she had received it. Some insurance companies will deny to keep from paying claims. It took me a year to get approval and the HR dept had to tell them to pay the claim. Don't give up, they are counting on it.
  4. I'm going to be banded in 1 week and my doctor has placed me on a meal replacement plan. My problem is that I cannot take artificial sweetners because they trigger headaches and sometimes migraines. Stevia is OK but I have only found one brand with stevia and that is Nectar Naturals. Does anyone else have this problem or suggestions for a protein supplement?
