Update: Effexor
I know first hand how true this is. My gf and I did Atkins 2 years ago for one entire year...she lost over 100 I lost 30....my primary doc said it was likely Prozac. So when I got banded I made the choice to quit Prozac for the month prior and permanently...I've lost 26 lbs in three weeks so I'm thinking you can't lose while on those drugs.

Breathing problems post-op
I'm a week out and I am breathing much better, but I had the exact same experience. I called the surgeon the night of because it was so bad and it's all the air in the chest cavity. I'm 90 percent better a week out but still pain when breathing sometimes.

pre op needs
'There is a list in pre op post op questions section I used it last week. I will tell you that the gauze pads I'll never use...my mother inlaw is a wound nurse and the incisions should be left open and nothing put on them. Stool softener was also on that list and I had diarrhea so I did have to run out for Immodium. Other than that I'd go by that list.

Help?? 4 Days Post Op And Still The Pain
I was wondering...I guess I've heard so many people say that 3 to 5 days they're back to normal. I'm not close to normal and I'm 4 days post op...still lots of pain in incision area on stomach. How long did it take you to feel good?

2 Weeks Of Liquid How Did U Survive?
I understand it was a surgical error to the intestine...it is very important from what I understand to find a surgeon who has a lot of experience not just done a few..the surgeon in this case had not done a lot. I should remind everyone that when I did my study the mortality rate on this surgery is less than hip replacement, hernia, gall bladder so it is relatively safe.

2 Weeks Of Liquid How Did U Survive?

November Bandsters!
Hi all glad to see everyone is doing well. Day 4 post op I'm feeling much better...each day seems to get better and better. I had no nausea only sharp pain when breathing which must have been gas as it has gotten better and better each day. I grow more and more worried now about all the foods people say they can't tolerate...what a learning process this is gonna be. As for you pre op diet veg I was there and it was very difficult but you can do it and it will make ur surgery so much better so hang in there.

New to the board.
I'm in the same boat... heavy, hbp, pre diabetes and I figure I'm only gonna go down hill from here after losing and gaining at least four times. I figure have the surgery while you're healthy not after your sick with diabetes, heart attack etc...It's perhaps God's last chance for me to reclaim my temple.

What does everyone do for a living?
Kleigh you really shoulda been a comedian...loved that! I'm currently a mother of an adopted son who just started K. Previously, I was a Director of Corporate Communications for a Patient Satisfaction firm...and an advertising executive for 13 years. I have to say while waiting to adopt I was a sub teacher and I loved it...could see doing that next year when son is in school full time and what excites me about it the most is how easy I would be able to get up and down off the floor with the kids...YOOOO HOOO
