I have been considering the surgery for a couple of years. I finally decided to have the lap band surgery last July and began the process. However, when I visited my endocrinologist in February 2010 and learned my AIC was at a diabetic level, I knew I had made the right decision. I have been overweight 23 years. It is my time to focus on me and become healthy.
