Question
My doc does a similar fill. But does not ask me how much to put in. I have a 10 cc band and my doc is very very carefull. He does not like to un fill at all. I had 1 unfil and now he doesnt want to do fills on me any more. I agree with the doc about your focus. Have you thought about the exercise that you are going to do? I suggest that you measure your food. As your band get restriction IT will tell you that you are full. But do not expect it to do it right now. Don't over eat. Try to just have 1 cup of food per meal. Your object with this band is to lose weight. It is just a tool. You have to do work to get the too going. The book Bandwagon is a great book. I think you will love it. We are all here to help. But you need to help you....hugs. Don't worry about your fill its a breeze and a prick.................

Mentor/buddy Neede In Spring Hill, Fl Area
To my Floridain gal friends. Think of the bathing suits you will be wearing soon. You gals will not starve from having less food, or soft food. I promise you. I also promise you both that you will be much happier with the weight loss you will have. The band is a wonderful tool. But we cannot cheat or abuse the tool. i did so great cause I went full blown on the band. At 64 now 2.5 years ago i was 62 and I lost slowly. When I lost 89 my friend who is 12 years younger lost 135. So I will be happy to work with both of you gals. If you want me to. Just ask...YOu can also send me a private message or use my email at aol. does not matter to me. but what does matter is that both of you spend alot af money and now have the lapband. So we can work together. drink that Water right now.....hugs

Discouraged!
could you have lots of diabetes in the family? I agree with the others. Make sure you write down the names of who you speak to. Also could you get this in writing? YOu might want to talk to your boss and they might be ready to renew the contract and make changes..

Post Lap Band Diet
I liked broth. Veggie, chicken and beef. Go for the egg Drop soup..I'll join ya. I do not think there are any restrictions on how much you can have. Drink Water. It will flush out the fat and the weight. Do not get constipated.....That is the very worst thing to happen. Relax. walk. walk. Think about how pleased you will be....Think about your exercise plans..

Fellow Bandsters!!!! Please Help
My Answer is for the last question: yes. you are over thinking. I suggest that you think about how much walking and exercising you are going to do. How excited you are that you have the lapband and are going to be sucessful with it. Didn't the office give you more information about fills, pre and post surgery rules? A relationship with your Dr is the most important thing. Relax. and good luck. no bread.

New Here, But Not New To The Heavy Weight Group
I hope that you realize that these are two different types of surgeries. While the end result is the same. Her weight loss was probably quicker and easier. And she might have lost more than you have to now. Don't forget to say bye bye to your diet soda, and all white flour foods. Like bread, rice and Pasta. BEST OF LUCK I am behind you all the way.

I Forgot What I'm Supposed To Eat...#carbs, #fat, #protein. What Are You Eating?
I would up that Protein amount and definelty lower the carbs you are listing. Did you have the surgery for 50 lbs? Wow. Didn't your DR.'s office give you this information when you left the office.? You might want to purchase a book that will give you both crbs and protein amounts from food. Stay away from High carb bread. all bread and white flour foods.

6 Months Diet
I would call the insurance company myself.. I also am sure that the surgery coodinator knows exactly what each insurance company requires. Ask them. You can avoid the 6 month diet. Pay cash like many of us had to do. Regarding "time off" for this surgery, I do not think you will need alot of time off. Best of luck..

Post Lap Band Diet
Yes it is gas. keep walking it will help. Have you taken "gas x?" Yep you are and should stay on a liquid diet. I enjoyed Vegetable, beef and chicken broth. Jello Tea and water. Etc. YOu will do fine and I congratulate you on your surgery and your trip to a healthy life style. I would imagine that your Dr's office provided you with a week by week menu. Many times, we don't think they do so we do not look at the paper work given to us. Since you have not eatten in a while. Please becareful and don't over do the pain pills. You will become constipated. You will be very unhappy if you do. You might want to purchase stool softners. Sooner than later. At this time you have to be KIND to your area. Take your time and think about how you want to exercise and get ready to learn how to eat again the lapband way. I am hoping that you will not dwell on FOOD all the time. Think about other things as you go foward in your journey. Make friends, read books, measure your body, do not eat that bread. You might want to buy a book for your low carb and high protein program. remember to chew your food slowly. hugs.
