  1. I had my surgery on Monday. Monday night and early Tuesday morning, I found that every time I got out of bed, I felt nauseated. After a few hours, that subsided. I think it was the anesthesia in my system and the IV was able to flush alot of it out. Are you getting your fluids in? I have not felt any nausea since Tuesday a.m, but after having beef broth yesterday, I immediately felt a little queasy and stopped drinking it. I think it has oils and other flavorings that could be too strong from my stomach. I'd suggest you sip your water and chicken broth, if you can, and also call your surgeon's office. Good luck to you.
  2. 6 months? Is that how long the psych evals are for? I just started with my appointments and the nutritionist is 3 appts in order to satisfy the insurance. I thought all the others were a one time thing. Hmmm...
  3. Hi Jax and thanks for responding. Just want to say that I'm excited for you and wish you much luck on Tuesday. Keep us posted and good luck!
  4. My name is Belinda (as you can tell). I'm new to this site and am finally ready to do something about my weight. For years I have watched my friends lose with due to gastic bypass and lap band and finally - the light bulb went off. I got the name of a great surgeon and had my first consult last week. He told me that because my bmi is 40, I am morbidly obese...and finally, it sunk in. I am really obese. It's funny how my mind told me for years that I"m not that big. Despite the pictures and the rolls, that say otherwise. Well anyway, enough about that. Dr. told me that I had to fulfill all these other consults and it will be about 3 months. I was so lost at the appointment, but I did ask questions. I am eligible for the gastric bypass and lap band but I'm going for the lap band. Less invasive. I made all my appointments but was surprised to know that the nutritionist's appt. is a series of 3...and I finish them. How soon after that is the surgery scheduled? So far I have the appts lined up, sent a request for my all of my referrals and watching the board and rooting for all of you. I'm excited and wonder why it took so long for this lightbulb to go off. Oh well. Better late than never. Thanks for listening!
