had my surgery Febuary 15th
Got my band February 12 - all is well, after my 3rd fill I really had to go by the "rules" tight but not TOO tight - just holds me accountable for what I should be doing - down 31 lbs.. how does that compare too much, too little?

I feel less restriction after fill, is this normal?
Same happens to me - I dont feel tighter until about day 3-4.. weird I know..

Pre-op Diet Cheater
I was instructed to do the southbeach supercharged - it was filling and sufficient. I cheated a couple times, but if you do - there is a good chance they will open you up to install the band and the will not be able to because your liver will be stiff and they will not be able to move it. Follow the directions if you want the band! It is hard I will not lie - after you get the band - HARDER.. liquids and your head wants to eat - but YOU CAN DO IT.... YOU CAN DO IT.. be sure your are eating enough protein that is the ONLY thing that will prevent you from becoming hungry - fruit will make you hungry - sugar ups and downs. Fruit is not even allowed in stage 1 of south beach super charged.. Just start again tomorrow and you CAN do it!

Need advice from bandsters...
avoid getting stuck by following the rules. They are clear cut. Hamburger is the worse thing besides dry chicken - just dont do it; that is why you got the band in the first place. I dont mean to be direct - but it is true - next time you get stuck lift your arms above your head take a couple breaths and relax and dont eat that again. Recognize why and what made you stuck - No stuck does not mean adequate restriction, it means your not eating what you are supposed to be eating - or too big of bites or too fast - figure out which one it is and try to work with it. Chick fila does it to me 1 time - 2 times and I got the hint - NO MORE.. there are other things for me to eat and it is not the best food choice - next time, I will get fruit cup or a salad. "Pros" will not get stuck (usually if they follow the rules) follow the food guidelines - also the reason your getting stuck is the tightness of the band - that is the goal - right? To assist you in making better choices. I dont notice any thing when I get a fill - it is 2-3 days later that I feel "tighter" - I have only had 2 fills - I try to stay within my guidelines and see if that is sufficient -

Am I eating too much--am I full? or do I need more fill??
I have not yet had a fill - I was banded on Feb 12th.. I am starting to get hungry sooner and can eat just about anything - getting nervous - do your fills really help out?

Hey! Feeling lost! Thank you to anyone who answers!
Hey after reading everyones posts... although that was MY true feelings - You know everyone is right saying to do it while you ARE young to make the most out of everything and to get healthy and stay healthy - it makes a lot of sense - Go for it what ever way you can, but if you are unable do the best you can while you wait.

Feeling lost with out food
Hey - how do you get your ticker on there? I am new - sorry for asking.

Feeling lost with out food
Yea - I never realized how much I thought about food - I started to realize it when I was scared to get banded because I could never eat a sandwich again! I KNEW I needed a change of mind then! Think about this, I am a banquet captain, I staff MEAL events at a beautiful hotel - that is my life; food food food!
