  1. I think I need some support, I'm most definitely not getting it from friends and family. We're all just too busy. 6 months in I've lost 35 lbs. I feel like a total failure. I know I need a fill, I still eat way too much. I'm at my lowest point emotionally, I don't know what to do.
  2. I'm thinking about doing the 5 day pouch test to help me jump back on the bandwagon and get back on track. I've made some awful food choices lately and I think it's starting to get consistent. I sometimes forget I have the band and I don't chew enough, so I end up getting stuck. Its passes in a few minutes but I know I should've learned by now. I'm about 3 months post op with 3cc in a 10cc band. I have a fill appt next week hoping to get 2 more cc's! Any advice to getting back on track?!?! 5daypouchtest.com/
  3. I think I over ate or something. I've been having such an off couple of days. I just got back from a road trip to see some family and I had some poor food choices along the way. Now my stomach is aching, it's tolerable. I really just think it's gas or my stomach is swollen, because I can still eat and get things down but I'm not sure. I've had my band for 2 months now and I'm filled with 3 cc's in a 10cc band. Not much restriction but I think I did some damage or something. And to top it off I have cold. I've been coughing, sneezing, and have a stuffy nose for 2 days now. I'm taking some tylenol hoping it'll work for both my sickness and my pain. I really hope I get better. And I have work in a few hours. Wow what a day...:wink2: But do you guys think I should do the 5 day pouch test? maybe just to see?
  4. I've been on my band for 2 months now and I've suddenly gotten sick. Just a slight cold and cough, I'm trying to not cough as much because I'm scared for my band. I was wondering what medicine should I take. I'm taking some liquid cold medicine but can I take capsules/caplets?
  5. YAY! I had my first fill yesterday. It wan't much, my doctor gave me 3 cc's and in 2 weeks I'll get another 2 cc's! I'm so excited. :smile2: But what now?! Any recommendations on good lap band books?
  6. For example, yesterday I had a half of a tuna sandwich from the caf at school. I have class at 8 and I ate Breakfast at 920. But I had to give in and buy a small cookie too. :cursing: for lunch I had some baked ricotta and marinara and for dinner I had a spring roll from my parent's leftover dinner. but the other day I ate so much. I had some fish and chips, minus the chips. But a few hours later I had grilled chicken and some veggies. I felt like I was eating too much in short period of time. I know I'm being paranoid but I just can't wait till my fill .
  7. I feel like I've been eating too much. I have an appt in 2 weeks for my fill and I can't wait. I've been eating more that I should. Like a failure. It's been more than a month and a half and now what can I do?!
  8. whew! Thanks for the reply. And congrats on coming this far. I thought I was a little late but now I know I'm not.
  9. Hi! I'm a little over a month post op and I was due for a fill in a few days. I contact my surgeons office and they say that he'll be back next month. So I set up my appt to see him in march. I was wondering, that it's pretty late for me to have a fill in march. That'll be a month and a half post op. But they said I should be fine. I guess I'll just wait it out and eat properly. Any advice until I get my fill?!
  10. My surgeon said I could start gradually adding solid food. I'm currently on my soft food stage and start solid foods tomorrow, Saturday. But I think I'll continue with the soft foods for a few more days so I can keep it safe. I'm always paranoid lately and I can't wait for my fill. And for the chicken... I just had it once. And now I know to stay away from it for a week or so. I have an appointment with my surgeon next weekend and can't wait.
  11. Thanks so much for the insight. I'm glad I'm not alone in this. But I think I'm can eat way too much now. I guess I get paranoid easily. The other day I experienced my first time getting stuck. I ate too fast and didn't chew well. I feel like I'm failing so badly. I just am so packed with school that I can't have time to just sit and take it slow. I've got a long way to go.
  12. Hello. I am about 3 weeks post op. It will be 4 weeks tmrw :scared2: but I think I stretched my pouch. I can eat way too much. I will stay full for a while but I'm still scared. For example, today I had a skinless chicken breast that was grilled. So it was nice and soft. But I felt overwhelmingly full afterward. Did I eat too fast? Can I go on liquids for a day or so to shrink it?
  13. I am a little over 3 weeks post op and should be starting on soft foods. But for a few days I feel like I've been cheating. About 3 days ago I went to a chinese restaurant and had some egg drop soup and tea. But I gave in and had 3 pieces of shrimp. I chewed well but I totally cheated and had sips of water after wards :cursing: I felt like a failure. And this morning I had the inside of a "breakfast burrito" (scrambled egg, cheese, tomatoes and onions) I chewed fairly well but I think I'm sabatoging myself. I feel like I have healed wonderfully but I constantly think my band has slipped but I know it wouldn't right? Its either it will slip or I'm just over reacting. I'm really dedicated in this band but I felt horrible when I ate the food. I couldn't help it.
  14. hey everyone! I'm kinda new here. Fill me in on how this works? ahah I was banded on 1/15. No restriction but I'm still on my full liquids phase. Can't wait for mushie and soft foods after
