  1. I have the same issue, but during my 6 month nutrition I learned soooo much! I usually grab a weight watchers string cheese, cereal (dry to eat in /car) or english muffin or piece of toast and a fruit. If I don't have a cheese stick I will take a HB egg. With these items I can pack a breakfast ahead of time, and take it to eat on my way to work. Good luck!!!
  2. The center I went through had a list of psych. to choose from, I had to self pay because no one on the list was in my plan; however, my psych eval only cost $150.00. Maybe you should call the surgeon to ask them for other options?
  3. You will start your cycle on the sugar pills. I haven't restarted mine yet, but I will Sunday. Your period will stop on its own even if you don't start the new pill pack. When I start mine on Sunday, I will be a little messed up but hey, my cycle is never regular.
  4. I had to stop my BC pills 10 days before. Surgeon never mentioned it but when I went to pre-op they freaked out about it and he told me to stop taking it. Good luck to you!
  5. Best of luck on your surgery, and thanks for the welcome!
  6. #1. Surgery date? Feb. 5, 2010 #2. State you live in? New York #3. Doctor/Surgery Center? Dr. O'Malley Highland Bariatric Center #4. Insurance or self pay? Insurance #5. Age and height 38 years, 5 foot, 1 inch tall. #6. Current weight and goal weight? currently 214 lbs, goal weight would be 115 but I'm taking 10 lbs at a time!!! #7. What was your deciding factor for having this surgery? My health is poor and its mainly due to high blood pressure, asthma, fibromyalgia, pre-diabetes all of which could be improved through weight loss. Looking at my 3 kids I realized I need to live a long time yet, but at the rate I was going I would have been dead by 50. Do you have the support of family and friends? My family is a little skeptical because they have heard horror stories of band slippage etc. My friends are more supportive. #8. Concerns and questions? Getting through this recovery phase is hell, for real. I didn't think it would be this bad. I am suddenly freaked out by maybe never eating pop corn again (LOL). I am on the prowl for recipes for the mushy stage, and it helps a lot because instead of craving popcorn and other stuff I cant have, I am craving some of the yummy recipes I will try next week!!!
  7. Hello! I had my band applied 2/5/10 and I am still in the liquid diet phase of recovery. (mmm. . . Protein shakes, broth and Popsicles!) I am 38,and the mother of 3 children ages 16,9, and almost 2. I live in Western NY state. I love looking at the success photos, and reading all of the tips and hints you have all posted. It has helped me these last few days getting through this diet phase.
