  1. Well- I got my second fill on Friday and the first did nothing for me so I told the doc we needed to be a little more aggressive with this one. HE WAS! The first fill was 4cc and he said he would probably give 1/2 after that untill we got to the green zone. When I went in for the second I got 2cc. Problem is: I dont know if im being a wimp or if im too tight. I can not eat anything! I know a few days of all liquid but this is 5 days later and 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and 1 egg will not even go down. I think I got about 3 very small bites and thats it. O.K. people let me know. Do I just have to deal with it for a few more days or should I call the Dr? Nobody wants to go for a small unfill but this is real uncomfortable. BTW Im down 96 lbs. in 10 months- maybe 50 or so pre surgery- but that big 100 is so close I dont want to go backwards. Thanks for the help. God Bless

    Restriction? or Too Tight?

I know how you feel about losing with the new restriction. That part made me wait to go see the dr. I could not even sip soups. I was real concerened about not getting enough nutrition. When they did the body mass thing on the scale it showed that in 6 days I lost 13 lbs. The bad part was 5 lbs of that was muscle. 8 lbs of fat good- 5 lbs of muscle not good. I dont blame you for waiting but be careful you are not starving yourself in the mean time. We need a certain amount of good food just to make it through each day. We want less thats why we all got the band in the first place. I was not hungry either but realized nothing at all was dangerous. Good luck. God Bless.

    Restriction? or Too Tight?

Went to the Doc. Did a slight unfill- .75cc. WAY BETTER! Should have not been too aggressive for only the second fill. Thanks for the advise God Bless
  4. I lost 21 lbs. in 6 days. I thought it was a bit execessive but I gained about 4 back when I started to have mushies then regular food. By the time of my first fill 5 weks later I was down about 30 or so.

    Waiting for Approval

Chanal- I too know how you are feeling. My approval came quickly but a few weeks into the process with the tests I came to find out that my surgeon was "not in network" I had to find a new surgeon and start all over:sad: Best advice I ever read here DO YOUR HOMEWORK The ins. part is tough and waiting and wanting it soooo bad sucks!! but do everything they ask of you and everything will work out fine. I am finally being banded in 7 days and this wait is also killing me. Be patient (this is advice for myself as much as it is for you) I will pray for you good luck- stay strong- its going to go in your favor God Bless
  7. Hi everone My first post. Ive been reading this site for weeks now and everones experiences are inspirational. Just got the courage to introduce myself. I am 9 days from changing my life forever(January 29th surgery.) I do have a few concerns that I think can be addressed here. My wife hopes I dont trade one obsession for another. In other words will I become obsessed with losing weight and the scale like I was with overeating and in general not caring about my health? I think I have done enough "soul searching" to avoid that. Does anyone have these thoughts? I am a Chef so working with food all day was a huge sticking point for me. How can I make all this great tasting food everyday and resist? I just decided that I have access to any kind of food that I want, good or bad, I would just have to choose the good stuff. I think I'm over that now! I started my liquids yesterday and it went well. I bet this gets old real quick though. One last thing. How does everyone explain to people they have not seen in awhile what happened? I cant wait for the questions! How much weight have you lost? How did you do it? I know there will be plenty of pats on the back but sharing that I had WLS to some people that dont understand is a bit unnerving. We've all seen the posts "this is the easy way out" and so on. People that have not done the reasearch might look down their nose at the thought of having the band. Im surely not insecure or anything I know Im doing it for all the right reasons but wonder how others adderss these questions. O.K. one more thing- I have an 11 year old and a 4 month old and being to play with them and teaching them the healthy way to live in moderation is the greatest joy of all. I cant wait!! Thank you to everyone who shares on this forum it has helped me greatly. God Bless you all.
