  1. Ask your doctor for some Zofran it is a miracle drug for morning sickness!!
  2. I just had a baby 5 months ago and I honestly ate whatever I wanted, sometimes during pregnancy there are things that you just have to have..I can say I was lucky I didn't gain any weight but lost a lot..everything ended up for the best though my little girl was healthy..but I would say eat what you think is best, veggies, protein, fruit just stay away from sandwich meat, hot dogs, sushi, and fish with mercury in it..

    Should I wait or not?

I am 34 (almost 35) and just had my first baby she is 5 months old now, honestly if you wait for everything in your life to be perfect in order to have a baby you will never have one!! I had to learn to set things aside and concentrate on what was more important..Also it had taken me over a year to get pregnant (due to fertility problems) so issues like that can defiantly arise. I say go for it, if it is something you want to do and don't worry about the best time to have a baby because when the baby comes your life is turned upside down every which way and things never ever go as planned!! Best of luck
  4. It is very frustrating try to conceive, we tried for over a year..I went to the fertility specialist and was put on Femera..you might want to contact your doctor and see if he can put you on some medication to help you..I would suggest Femera over Clomid for the side effect reasons...I had no issues, we were on it for 2 months and we got pregnant.. I would also suggest if you don't want to go to that extreme yet that I should purchase some OPK sticks off ebay and use them day 10 and on to see exactly when you ovulate..also buy pre-seed lubricant, I swear by the stuff it is amazing and use it everytime..Also when your done having sex make sure you lay there for at least 15 minutes without moving, gives the sperm time to reach its goal I honestly tested with OPK strips everytime I went to the bathroom because you never know when it will show up positive.. A great website to join is Themommyplaybook.com it is a fantastic site for women trying to conceive that have problems, although they don't have the lapband they have tons of information to help Good luck getting pregnant, I have heard sometimes the second one is harder then the first Keep us updated!!

    Finally on my way!

That is such awesome news, Congrats on having your healthy baby girl I think it is wonderful that even though you gained back some of your weight you still stuck it out and went back to get your fills I was the same way I went through pregnancy without getting unfilled I think it was the best choice for me and I also had zero problems. Keep doing what it is your doing and you will end up at your goal weight in no time!! Congrats again on getting to your sweet spot!! Keep us updated on your progress
  6. Welcome Well I wouldn't say that having the lap band makes it easier to get pregnant but for a lot of women when your overweight your periods are irregular and therefore it is harder for them to get pregnant, so since you lost an awesome 153lbs (way to go btw!!) your cycles are starting to get back to normal. At least that is my opinion on what is happening. Although all the strange symptoms might mean your pregnant, if you don't want to wait till your doctor's appointment go to the Dollar Tree and pick up a $1.00 pregnancy test and check. They are actually really good tests. Your period that you had for 1/2 of the day could of been implantation bleeding, it doesn't happen to all women but a lot of women have this. The crying, throwing up, back aches are all early signs of pregnancy. But I would definitely go get a test that way you won't be stressed or nervous waiting around to find out yes or no. So if you are you have plenty of questions about being pregnant and if your not then you can concentrate on what else it may be. Good Luck and keep us posted
  7. Sounds just like my pregnancy, I lost weight my entire pregnancy and didn't get morning sickness til after 12 weeks. Every woman is different, thankfully your one of the lucky ones that hasn't had any morning sickness If at anytime you think your pregnancy is not "normal" per say I would talk to your obgyn. My entire pregnancy I was so nervous because I wasn't gaining weight and I didn't get unfilled, but everything was perfect. Good Luck and keep us posted
  8. Congrats on your first pregnancy!! My opinion is keep wearing til it becomes uncomfortable, your the only one that will know when that is. But I don't see there being any type of issue wearing it til late into your pregnancy. It might become to small once your start to show but I wore a pregnancy back support and it is very similar to a girdle well into my 30+ weeks. If you start to get to big go look at one of those..also their is a the Beband too that would probably work too if it becomes uncomfortable. Good Luck and keep us updated http://www.isokineticsinc.com/mm5/saunders/MOTHER-T.jpg - that is the back support I used

    The Next 9 Months

First I wanted to say congrats Also wanted to let you know that your concerns are normal, I felt the same way when I got pregnant. Just to answer a few of your questions from my experience.. Ok where to start I would saying getting pregnant so soon after your ban is fine, they make you wait to get your eating habits under control and to heal..I started trying to get pregnant about 8 months however I didn't get pregnant for a year after that. As far as losing weight while being pregnant I guess I was one of the lucky ones, I didn't gain a pound..I went through the morning sickness and took Zofran which an amazing drug. I would suggest asking your obgyn for some, it is safe to take while pregnant. As far as gaining weight and being hungry, I would say the hunger goes away it won't stay your entire pregnancy..just make sure your eating healthy for you and your baby..I think the most scary part that I find on this board is women are so scared to gain weight well it is normal to gain weight and trust me when you have your baby you will lose a lot of it..I would suggest keeping your fill in as long as you can, I did and had zero issues with having it in my entire pregnancy and I just got a fill in Nov and got pregnant in Dec. As far as your obgyn not knowing anything about your lapband neither did mine, although the most important thing with having a lapband is to keep your Water intake high and to eat a lot of Protein. I used to drink Protein shakes every morning for the extra protein and it helped. I used to get the generic slim fast ultra shakes from walmart in chocolate and they really helped with the morning sickness and the hunger pains. I wouldn't be worried about your obgyn not knowing, just make sure you express to your obgyn any concerns you have and trust me if your obgyn is good he/she will educate themselves on lapbands.. When getting into your 3rd trimester I had a little bit of pain in my port but it was only due to my daughter kicking me, however the kicking to my ribs hurt more..giving birth was probably the worst experience I had, my daughter basically ripped me front to back and side to side coming all the way down the birth canal..I pushed for 6 hours and had zero issues with my band or port, I am not trying to scare you I am just saying even with the worse outcome that I had I had no issues. I wouldn't be concerned about going through labor with the band... I hope I have answered all your questions, if you have anymore please feel free to contact me at xaspenx@hotmail.com Good luck and keep us posted on your progress

    Morning Sickness and the Band

Zofran is safe to take while pregnant, there are a lot of drugs that you can take while pregnant Zofran is a miracle drug in my opinion...it really helped me and I had very bad morning sickness..I hope it helps and goes away, good luck and congrats on your pregnancy
  11. I waited just about 8 months before we started trying to get pregnant..I say wait until your completely healed and then start trying..we tried for almost a year to get pregnant so I would hate for you to wait a year then try and end up waiting even longer to get pregnant..thats my suggestion..good luck
  12. It's been awhile but I do remember my port being sensative, it hurt for awhile and I was also very caution of the area. If it is something that continues I would contact your doctor about it, maybe there is something they can do for you. I hope it goes away soon, I just remember the port being the one thing that hurt the most...good luck
  13. I agree with Melissa, I say your still swollen from the csection. I know when I had my baby I was almost to the point of having a csection so the doctor spoke to me about it and I asked him if it would do anything to the band he said nope. But then again I think everyone is different but I can't seeing having a csection messing up your band or port. I would get in touch with ob or surgeron and speak to them about it and get it looked at. Good Luck Congrats!!
  14. First off Congrats on your pregnancy!! Such wonderful news...I have never been to a midwife so I can't answer that question but I would ask your old midwife if she has a problem seeing you since you have the band. I can't imagine it being a problem, they don't look at being banded high risk (at least my ob didn't). As far as weight gain, my doctor wanted me to gain the same amount of weight a non banded woman would but I never did, I was one of the lucky ones that lost weight. I did not get unfilled during my pregnancy, I ate anything and everything I wanted. Most of the food I ate was veggies, fruits and little snacks here and there. I also drank protein shakes every morning and if for some reason I was running out and couldn't eat I would grab another. My ob was more concerned with me getting enough protein then anything else. I drank a lot of fluids and just relaxed and enjoyed my pregnancy. I don't think you have to get unfilled to have a healthy and happy pregnancy. I think you should do what is best for you, talk to you midwife and come up with a plan that works best for you and the baby. Good luck and keep us updated
  15. I would highly recommend getting some OPK's and start charting your cycles so you know when you ovulate. That way when you do try your doing it on the right days, also grab a tube of Pre-seed (a lubrication used to get pregnant) it is a miracle in a tube. Even if you have enough mucus down there, I would highly recommend using it also. I hope you get your positive soon

    Looking too much into it?

When I was trying to conceive I would make a list every month of different signs I would get during my periods, I thought many months I was pregnant then it would just be a false alarm. But when I did get pregnant I looked back and had a lot more signs that I was before I even knew...I don't think your looking into it to much at all, when your trying to have a baby every second during your cycle matters. I know it did for me, I wanted a baby so bad. It took us over a year to get pregnant and each month seemed like forever. I would keep doing what your doing, write down symptoms, keep track of ovulation, keep using preseed (that is what we used and got pregnant) I swear by that stuff...and keep doing your business in the bedroom!! Remember to stay still in bed at least 15 minutes after having sex, it will help a lot!! I wish you and your husband the best of luck..I really hope this is your month and you get that positive test!! Keep us posted
  17. I am sorry for your loss, I had a miscarriage back in Sept and it broke my heart. I was able to get pregnant in Dec with a lot of help with fertility drugs and monitoring on my own. I was wondering if you have been to a fertility specialist? Usually when you have 2 miscarriages their is a problem and it should be looked into. You might want to talk about trying fertility drugs as well. I really wish you the best of luck and I hope you get pregnant very soon.
  18. Best of luck hun!!! I really hope you get pregnancy soon..it took my husband and I awhile before we were able to get pregnant too..
  19. I was also on fertility meds in order to get pregnant. It took my husband and I a few months..although we weren't taking Clomid I had to weight gaining issues. You might want to try a different fertility drug..I used Femera, it may be the drug..I have heard a few of the ladies that I speak to about fertility issues gain weight on Clomid although I am not sure if that is what the problem is...I got a fill in November 09', we found out we were pregnant in Dec 09..I did not get unfilled my entire pregnancy and had no issues..I would suggest getting a fill and seeing if that works..and I would talk to you doctor about switching meds if Clomid hasn't worked yet..Femera was great, I had zero side effects and only had to take it for a few months..Best of luck and keep us updated :cursing: I really hope you get your Positive soon.. Also wanted to add that while I was on fertility drugs I still did other things that I feel helped us get pregnant..some things I suggest doing if your not already doing them...I tested every time I went to the bathroom with OPK's, they are little sticks that you put in your urine to see if you have ovulated..they helped wonders...because even if your taking fertility drugs you can ovulate early or late..in my case I was late..also we used Pre-seed every time we had sex, it is amazing stuff..it is a lubrication that you use that helps the sperm get closer to your eggs...even if you don't need lubrication I would still suggest getting some..also make sure after every time you have sex to at least lay down still for 15 minutes..don't jump up and go clean up..You can find the OPKs on Ebay for very cheap, and don't hesitate to use the Dollar Tree pregnancy tests they are awesome and work!! The pregnancy tests on ebay also work well too..if you have any other questions please feel free to email me xaSpenx@hotmail.com Hope this helps :huh2:

    Due April 11'..freakin out!

I just had my baby girl 1 month ago, and some advice I would give you is worry about the health of the baby first and foremost..I know it is hard seeing the pounds come back but honestly eating right and making sure your baby is getting all the right nutrition it can is more important...Just take one day at a time and enjoy being pregnant because once you have your little one you will miss being pregnant.. I am sorry you are scared and not sure your ready to be a mommy, but honestly I don't think anyone really is ready per say..I planned my little girl and was scared the entire time thinking the same thing..I just ate what I wanted and made sure I took my prenatals..Best of luck and please keep us all updated..also I would suggest going to a website called TheMommyPlaybook.com, they have an excellent board there to talk to women that are going through the same thing and at the same amount of weeks as you are..they helped me a lot and I learned a lot..hope this helps :cursing:

    Breastfeeding..

Well I haven't gotten a fill since last November, but I am pretty much at a good spot right now..I have been BFing for a month now and my supply is great. I haven't had any issues, although I don't know if this means anything but I try to eat whatever I can or want, because BFing takes a lot out of me..I stay away from gassy food, and caffine but everything else is a go for me..plus I drink a protein shake in the morning..their is stuff out there that helps with improving your milk supply, you would need to do a little research but I have seen ladies talk about it on other forums. Also I would contact a Lactation Consultant and he/she might be able to help you more..You might want to pump while your BFing too, I heard that helps more milk come in..but you never know your milk supply might be perfect.. Good Luck!! BFing is amazing and I love every minute, it is tough waking up every 2-3 hours to feed her but the bonding is worth it! Also wanted to add make sure you drink tons of water, that really helps with your milk supply..
  23. Good Luck, I hope this is your month!! Yes, there is medication to take for morning sickness. The most common one given is Phenergan, however when I started taking it I was so tired all the time. They switched me to Zofran and it is fantastic. I would highly recommend skipping the Phenergan and going straight for the Zofran.
  24. Well that explains the burning feeling, I experienced stretching of the scars too but forgot about it...My daughter is now 3 weeks old and I have yet to get a fill, I don't feel I need one yet...Good luck again :puke:
