My GP is a fan of Lapband and mentioned it a couple of times. I have yoyo dieted since I was 9 years old. In high school I lost 86 pounds in my junior year. In 2000 I lost 113 pounds. I have always gained the weight back, and a little more than lost. In March of 2009 my cholestrol elevated to 223 and I called the surgery center. I started working out 5 days a week in April of 2009 and was sure that I was just going to meet with the dietician and not have to go through with surgery. I did loose 30 pounds in the 6 months, but still ate too much, convincing me that surgery was the answer. I had surgery on Dec 22, 2009. The day after surgery I walked 3 miles (slowly) and believe that being fit before surgery helped with recovery.
