  1. Prevention.com used to have one, but no more. :-( I'm looking for one, too.
  2. Thanks for the feedback. I ended up sucking it up and taking more Tylenol with Codeine (liquid). I'm snowed in up in the Northeast, so I had to go with what I had on hand, and it was either my surgery meds or ibu. Thanks again, gang!
  3. I was banded at AtlantiCare by Dr. O, one month after you. :-)
  4. I LOVE LOVE LOVE C25K! I'm on Week 5 Day 1 tomorrow. I definitely recommend taking a day between your running. Your body has to rest. Also, be aware of the possibility of shin splints, typically a beginner's injury. You have to have new shoes, and I recommend LEARNING how to run. A running store (Fleet Feet is my closest) can help you. I am in LOVE with running, and always thought it would be something I could never do, even when I was younger and more athletic (playing tennis, basketball) -- I always thought running was beyond my ability. I am registered for two 5Ks in the next two months. :rolleyes2:
  5. I have a killer headache, and I tried taking some of my leftover tylenol with codeine (I'm 3 weeks post op) but it didn't help much. I have an empty band. Do you think I can take ibuprofen tablets?
  6. I will try that -- thanks! I probably need to do that for sure with increased activity. Bandster hell is the time before fills/restriction. :cursing: Frustrating!
  7. I am almost 3 weeks post-op, and have not had movement on the scale for about 10 days. I know I'm in bandster hell, I'm still keepin' the faith, exercising every day (my 5K is creeping closer and closer!) and so I was really excited today to have a real non-scale victory! My coworker (who hadn't seen me in three days) said, "Wow! You're really losing weight! I can see it in your face. That made me smile for a good 10 minutes straight! It was just what I needed. Hurray for NSVs! :-) But that doesn't mean I'm going to stop looking forward to my first fill in 2.5 weeks! Ha! :-)
  8. I had it, too! No worries -- you're not alone! Diarrhea is caused by stress or bacterial infection. It's *NOT* caused by drinking liquids. (If it were, we'd have it all the time.) Keep drinking your liquids and stay hydrated. It's your body's reaction to stress. It WILL go away!
  9. Wonderful news! Go, you!
  10. I had diarrhea for days after surgery. Stress to the body! THEN, I had constipation for about a week. As soon as you can, make sure you're getting enough Fiber. I'm two weeks post-op now, and I feel like things are starting to return to normal function. Along with my daily multi-Vitamins, I take fiber gummies to supplement my fiber intake.
  11. Love Dr. O and his staff! :-)
  12. I found that throughout my pre-op time, I was prepared at every turn for what was ahead. The office staff is just wonderful and very helpful, as well as being understanding and kind beyond compare. The rules are frequently communicated, the information regarding surgery was plentiful and freely provided, and it was absolutely made clear what Lap-Band was and what Lap-Band was not. Support groups are available and attendance is required pre-op and encouraged post-op. I could not be happier with the people behind my surgery!
  13. Hey, I'm there in bandster hell, too! (I'm also in SJ!) I was banded on 1/20/10 and have been stalled at 16 pounds for about a week now, even with following all the rules. I am disappointed, but I was aware that this would/could happen. I have scheduled my first fill for 2/26/10, and am looking forward to it. In the meantime, I'm going to keep following the rules and trying my best, along with keeping a positive attitude, which is WORK!
  14. Hey! Six days post-op, and I'm NOT HUNGRY! Is this normal? I have to force myself to eat, as I already feel bloated and full. I'm hoping it's just the gas/bloating that's making me feel this way. I've been walking and following doctor's orders. Just wondering if anyone else found themselves disinterested in eating for the first week after surgery. Don't get me wrong, HEAD HUNGER is strong! Just no actual hunger.
  15. I have to be at the hospital (in NJ) at 6 AM! Surgery at 7:30 AM. As soon as I'm awake, I'm supposed to be up walking for 5 minutes every hour to help with gas pain. Oh, and I heard that I should ask for the doctor to push down on my stomach right after surgery to help with gas, also. Overnight stay, some flouroscopy in the morning and then discharge. I'm very excited because I'm going to be getting SILS (single-incision lapband surgery). One incision in the belly button. Very happy about that!
  16. I'm very excited! I've been on my liquid diet for four days, and have my surgery in no time, it seems! I finished my 7 months of medical management on January 5th and was approved right away! SO glad. I topped out at 197 and am 5'1" with sleep apnea. I am at 194 after these few days of liquid dieting. My doctor is going to perform SILS (single-incision lapband surgery) and I'm very happy about that! I've also been running with the Couch-to-5K Program since November, and have registered for my first two 5K runs in March and April. Very excited! Running is my new addiction. :w00t:
  17. Exciting! :-) I will be there with ya, down to the day! :-)
  18. And I went to Boot Camp last week. I learned that there will be no catheter because they want to encourage us to get up and walk around. We HAVE to get up to go to the bathroom this way. I like the sound of this -- no catheter! Good luck to you!
