I was tired of being tired all of the time. I am a wife and mother of two children and didn't want to be the "Fat Mom" at my kids school functions anymore. I was tired of going to the amusement park and watching my kids ride the rides. I had gotten so unhealthy I would walk from bench to bench while my kids rhode the rides and had fun. I would get asked "Mommy will you ride the next ride with me?" I had to reply "No mommy is too big for the rides". I was devestated when I reached a size 30 pants and a 30/32 shirt size and ballooned at 323 pounds. I had to shop at a clothing store that carried my size clothes and hated paying so much money for them. I hated shopping and looking at my huge body frame in the three way mirrors! I decided enough with being fat and unhealthy and went to my doctor and disscussed my options. I researched the internet on the different weightloss options and finally decided to go to a lapband seminar in 12/08. I left the seminar excited and ready to start my new life. I got all the paperwork filled out and got a letter of support from my doctor. I sent everything in to my surgeon's office and soon got in to see him 1/09. I was amazed at the kindness of the office staff and the Surgeon, they were wonderful and supportive. I soon recieved my letter of approval from insurance and was set to have surgery March 18,2009. The day of surgery finally arrived and I couldn't wait to get the hospital that morning. I went through the surgery without any complications and couldn't wait to start my new journey. I am now 9 months post op and if given the choice again I would do it all over!! I am amazed at how much better I feel and can move. I am proud to say I visited the amusement park twice this summer and rhode on every single ride!!! My kids were so excited when I got on the first ride and I actually fit!! It was one of the best summers I have ever had! My husband and kids are very supportive of my new life and are here to help me every step of the way.
