  1. Well, I was banded on September 22, 2006. It did not take me long to decide that I wanted to try this tool. Surgery went great. I had my gallbladder removed and the lap-band placed. I am doing well. I have little pain. The hardest thing is getting up and down in bed because I am afraid of using my ab muscles and it is a bit uncomfortable. Other than that, I think all is going great. I am trying to take it easy at home for the first week post surgery. I have to watch myself because I will do more than what I need to be doing around the house. I have not weighed yet, but I feel like I have already lost some weight from the diet and not wanting to eat after surgery. I do not want to weigh until I go to the doctor. I don't want to be discouraged in what the scales say anyway.

  3. Girl, you are a nut!!!! I love ya though!
  4. Today I told a friend at work that I was having gallbladder surgery next Thursday and she asked if I was going to have the Lap Band done also. She also pointed out that the same incisions are made for both procedures. I thought, "Mmmmmmmmmm?" That sounds like a good idea. She had the surgery done back in March and we have talked about her experiences some and she is really looking good. So, I have been calling doctors' offices and my insurance company trying to find out as much as I can. After about an hour and a half after being on the phone with everyone, I told my husband I figured out what I wanted for my birthday (October 1st) and he asked what. Lap Band! What is that he asked as he played Pro Bass Fishing on PS2. I explained what it was, how it works, and that I could have it done at the same time as my gallbladder surgery. I told him about my concerns about gaining more weight after my gallbladder surgery due to the fats being absorbed instead of running right through me. He said if that is what I want and it will make me happy then do it. Yippie Yah Whooooo!!!!! I will talk to the doctor's officer tomorrow and find out about costs and make appointments. I will be able to go to Seminar on Saturday and still schedule my surgery for next week, only with Dr. Spivak instead of Dr. Shulka who would have only taken my gallbladder out. I'm so glad my friend mini_me encouraged me and pointed out the fact that I could do this too!!!! I owe her much THANKS!!!!!!!
