  1. better late than never but even better to be proactive and take charge while you're still reasonably healthy. I know someone right now begging to get a bypass but the surgeons in the area refuse because her other health issues are so severe....it's rather sad.
  2. yup yup yup.....anything can be undone, it's not magic (well, it kind of is, but it's magic that takes a little work). That's where the lifestyle changes come in...they can't be temporary, they've got to 'stick' or else the obesity monster can easily come back to play. As I'm typing this there's a commercial on for Lipozene...it really works, burns off pure fat, will work for everyone...shoot me now.
  3. The surgery really shouldn't make a difference. The HCG is made by the placenta (or pre-placental cells early on). Those levels shouldn't be effected at all by the RNY. If you're a week late any good pregnancy test should be picking it up by now, I'd be hitting up my doc if I really thought I was pregnant.
  4. What's your go-to breakfast in a hurry? I can only do so many shakes and protein bars and on weekdays cooking breakfast isn't an option....I've about Greek yogurted myself to death lately.
  5. That looks horrible!!!! OMG OMG seriously impressed.
  6. ::sigh:: spank me....I'm being catty...I just loathe the spreading of misinformation (granted, she firmly believes she's correct). I'll go look at the other shiny stuff around here and amuse myself.
  7. Score a big one for caring....good for you. The first few days are miserable. The fatigue, headache, moodiness...we aren't the most pleasant. Everyone is different but for me just asking if I was okay or if there was anything I needed would have been grand...then leave me alone. Don't hover (unless she likes that of course) but truly I just needed to be alone those first few days. Offer to make a cup of tea or broth, don't eat around her, the smells are HELL at that point, but just make sure she knows you're there for her.
  8. Thank God I won't sheet my staples, I need those!!!! Why would anyone get sleeved when your staples fall out your butt?
  9. hey!! Wait, is that a staple?!?!?!? Shiny!!!!!
  10. Yup, it sucks....seems to get better arounds days 5-6...the headache will go away but darn it's miserable in the mean time.
  11. Crap, apparently what I was reading is only in a test market. Ignore that! Sorry!!!!
  12. Chicken bowl, 270 calories, 23 grams of protein....
  13. yup, you're the opposite part from us. It's a good place to raise a kiddo. He can still run the neighborhood and be a kid and we've got Little Rock close for anything we need. It's a good fit for us. Enjoy your trip!
  14. We're a sneaky bunch...and proud of it! My mom would assume the worst and be convinced I'm dying of cancer...
  15. We did family pictures today...the photographer said they're awesome but I'm curious to see if I'll like them or see a cow...I did not feel like a cow so that's a start
  16. how funny!! What part of town? We're actually headed an hour north to Greers Ferry, my parents have a small lake house that we're all running away to.
  17. Okay so what happens if the all knowing brilliant mom actually calls you out on this??? You've lost a lot of weight, you're not eating...are you sick? Did you do something silly and hack off half of a perfectlY healthy stomach?
  18. ahhhhhh.... Man, I knew I should have studied a foreign language. Dammit.
  19. What's a pommy???? All I can think of is pomegranate and pretty sure that ain't right!!!
  20. You are killing me....
  21. actually, I'm a weirdo...I'm an RNY (previous band) that ended up on this thread during the shuffle and sort of took root...I'm 9 months post RNY.
  22. Now I'm picturing Kim Jong un in a posh frock...awesome
  23. ROFLMAO...touché!!!! I do indeed mean not at all but oh how that rumor could improve my dating life.
