  1. diana, i would have been very upset and let down myself :phanvan . if you have checked with your insurance and they will cover the surgery, i would suggest looking around for another dr. and also i would look into the other places 1st before doing the orientation, because some dr. require different things. for example: my dr. has an online orientation you have to complete instead of going to a live class. and sometimes you have to go the class that is at that specific hospital. my final thought on this would be-don't let this one bad experience stop you...shop around just like you do for an insurance or cell phone company. you will find the one that's best for you

  3. Hello all....I just wanted to pop in and say howdy! I like seeing people my age here. My life story pretty much is: I was a normal sized young'n till 8th grade. I fell into a slight depression and weight gain followed. Then, in high school, I joined my color guard and shed the lbs. Then I quit my sr yr and bobbled back and forth. And then college was my total downfall I was and am still happy but whenever my group gets together, food is usually involved. Now at this time, out of my 5 closest friends, 3 are banded. So I have a wonderful support system waiting for me when my time finally comes. I guess to sum it up. Happy moments and family time all center around food.....and I want to change that for me!
  4. I too work at tmobile but in nashville and the insurance pays very well. Plus uhc actually only took 1 week to approve me! I'm very excited but slightly nervous. The good thing is most of my friends are banded and I finally decided to do something to better my health as well. And it is so funny because it feels like 20% of my coworkers have the lapband! And dr. Morton has done almost all of them! Good luck with your surgery!

  6. Hi there! My name is lauren and I reside near nashville, tn. I just joined up here yesterday. I have my surgery slated for october 23rd 2006 at Southern Hills by Dr. Morton. and I am very excited! My bestfriend had it done about a yr and a half ago, so I was there from the beginning with her and kinda know what to expect. However, it is very different at the same time because it is actually happening to me! Any information/guidance would be very welcome. Be seeing ya'll around!
