  1. I was very lucky ... I had no gas pain in my shoulder or anywhere else, for that matter.
  2. I have often had those same thoughts, Phil.
  3. V8 juice, oatmeal and cream of wheat (both thinned with skim milk), smooth yogurt (no pulp or berry seeds), and applesauce.
  4. Make sure none of your regular meds are extended release or sustained release, if they are, have your doctor write new Rx. Get a pill crusher for the meds you take, and mix the crushed meds with sugar free pudding. I find that boullion and V-8 juice taste pretty good after all the sweet stuff I have been eating! oatmeal and Cream of Wheat (both thinned with skim milk) are good to have on hand. Low fat yogurt, too. My doctor had me on liquids for 2 weeks before surgery and 2 weeks after surgery ... tomorrow is the end of those 4 weeks!
  5. Madegraw, hello... I am a couple of months behind you, I was banded the week before last, so I have no comment ... you seem to me to be doing great! Your improved health is significant. I loved the description of your cat, cats have a reputation of being very aloof and reading that you have a really friendly one made me smile. 25+ years ago we had a very friendly cat, as well, and I still miss him. Congratulations ... 34 lbs ... I can't wait until I have lost that!
  6. unaBella ...I am posting my reply knowing that there are going to be a few who will have something to say about it. But here it goes. Well put.
  7. It happened to me this afternoon. I had just had a few sips of an unjury vanilla Protein shake and a wave of nausea came over me so suddenly, I couldn't believe it. It was gone in about a 1/2 hour. That is the only bout of nausea I have experienced.
  8. While still in the hospital, the day of my surgery, I experienced gas pain. I was reclined on pillows in bed, raised my arms back over my head and it helped immediately. Give it a try.
  9. I'm happy to hear that ... I have BCBS of Michigan, as well, had surgery January 6th and have not had a fill as yet.
  10. That is a disgusting remark.
  11. News? Surely you jest.
  12. Palin is just another Larry 'Lonesome' Rhodes. She is truly Faux News material.
  13. I wish I had been told that I would not be allowed to have anything to drink for 40 hours. If I had known what to expect I would have been much less upset and grouchy with the hospital staff. I went to bed at 9pm on Tuesday before my Wednesday surgery and did not have anything to drink until 1pm on Thursday.
  14. Phyllser... What a great picture ... you have plenty to be proud of.
  15. That is one heck of a great suggestion. Thank your nutrtionist for me!
