  1. I too was banded at a BMI of 35, I "let "mysef get to that so i qualified, as soon as i got my date i went on optifast / Duromine and lost 25 kg in 5 weeks before surgury. After surgury i lost another 10 Kg and hovered like that for the next year. All that time i had minor hicups with overfill / underfill. This last year i have fucked it ALL up with eating sweets constantly. Yes when i eat a meal i only eat a small portion ,But in between i constantly graze on SHIT and off course i have put on about 12 Kg in the past year . I can not seem to break the cycle. ........... Never ever would i give up the band though, i now it works and you just got to work at it , CONSTANTLY.
  2. Hey Nickers, I also live in "Crimebourne" , I was banded back in Nov 2006 , then lost about 30 Kg very quickly to my goal weight , i have recently slowly put back 10 kg ,s due to very bad food choices ( chocolate, ice cream, ect ) . Although i am down hearted at the moment i can never talk enough about the many benefit,s of the band. Good luck , and if you want to talk, PM me and we can meet.
  3. IT DOESN'T !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:speechles
  4. After earlier disaster of over filling and then removal, i am now treading very lightly. My last fill was 0.25 and it almost hit the spot.
  5. Hi there, I,m one of many, i,m 46 and the band is the better than i could ever have dreamed. I have private , Australian Unity and i was out of pocket less than $2000 over the last year since the op.
  6. Welcome Carmel, That,s a great start. as you know the Optifast is the hardest part. And now it,s all easy. There is no way to explain to someone other than a patient how relenting this shoulder pain can be.
  7. As the tumbleweed rolls across the praire.
  8. Why am i up at the crack of dawn.? Well Jackson my 2 y/o woke up wet and after being changed he wanted ( screamed ) to play and watch DVD,s Max and Milly ,no Thomas, no Wiggles ,no,Jay Jay. Mark.:help:
  9. For as long as i can remember my closet has been full of fat and not neerly as fat clothes ,all dull , dreary and loose fitting. I cant bare to think what i used to look like in the past. I was heavily (sic ) into the rave / dance sceene , other punters were bright and fluffy and me augh. Sso this weekend i have cleared my closet out, 8 yes 8 big garbage bays of fat clothes all out ,even the baggy underdacks, I basically only own : work uniform. 1 jean 1 cargo 1 trackydacks 4 trusty tees 1 wind cheater some sox and jacks and a dress shirt I even thru out my 20 year old Boss suit On the plus side i found 20 dollars in a pants pocket , although that wont go far. I feel naked but cleansed.:clap2: Mark.
  10. Japan, Japan sounds great, it,s one of only a few places i have never been to. As you know it,s very expensive ,but looks oh so beautiful. Why are you going there ,work or fun.? Mark
  11. Hi Tarajane, Ooops, i didnt even think to check if we are covered. We just have the QBE insurance cover which some Qantas ( My wife Julie is an ex Qantas travell consulatant ) employees purchase. I never thought to check to see if it covered things like the band or other artificial pats that i have.( No not my winky ) Shopping around will no doubt be pain staking. Sorry i cant help. Mark
  12. Hi Guy,s I,m happy at the weight that i,m at , i look " normal ", But like most of us i would still like to lose another 5 kg.....Or so. Occasional treat.Hmm There is not a day goes by that i DONT eat the equivalent of a packet of chocolate biscuits or a large block of chocolate. If for any reason i have to lose my band i,m F!@#ed I haven't learned a thing, sorry to say. Jacquie , i wish i had your motivation. I used to run when i was a little younger and i loved going to all the fun runs and meeting different people.I do really miss it. Hey i just found spell check. Now i might seam smarter, maybe. Mark
