  1. One thing I have learned since being banded is that I guess drinking liquids was almost always related to eating. So, I have had a little trouble getting enough fluids in. I almost always think about fluids just as I'm about to eat. What ideas do you have for me? Also, any yummy ideas out there beyond Crystal light, iced tea, Vitamin Water (Zero)? Lose4life's Blog Thanks! LusciousL
  2. I was eating a peach, adn it was a little bit fibrous....my bite went down, I got some pain, and then it immediately came back up...no warming....luckily I was standing at the sink pealing the skin, so it came up right up into the sink....now that was fast!!! Did I just have my first PB? check out my blog Lose4life's Blog LusciousL
  3. Be thrilled of your weight loss....that is tremendous! Get up, dust yourself off, and get back on the journey....call your Dr. office and see if you can get in for a fill. If you are eating 3-4 oz of Protein, and a half cup of veg. you should be able to go for 4 hours....if you can't, tell your Dr. that. You do have a buddy in you (your band) that will help you if you stick to the plan, and it is adjusted correctly. I think your weight lossis tremendous - be proud, and keep at it. Remember, you didn't get to this point over night....try not being hard on yourself...instead be honest with yourself. Oh yes, and I too am a May bandster...not at my sweetspot, but trying to see how little I can get by on, rather than how much I can still eat...it's a little game I play with myself...try it....it works :tt1: I've got more to say at my blog http://lose4life.wordpress.com All the best, you have our support

Filet Mignon 5 days after first fill?

If I draw from my experience, filet mignon would be fine. I experienced no restriction after my first fill. I had 3 cc put in at time of surgery, and an additional 2 ccs added at my first fill. Given that limiting carbs is a good idea, I'd stick with your filet. You'll know how you feel before you sit down to the meal. If you have had any restriction leading up to the event, just politely ask the server to bring you somethign else, as you are not feeling well....they will likely be able to accomodate you. Personally, steak goes down easier than chicken for me. Also, you're at a wedding, so you can pace yourself with small bites that are well chewed. All the best Check out what else I have to say on my blog Lose4life's Blog Thanks LL:w00t:
  5. thanks all....I'm waiting until I get back. Valuable advise :scared2: Check out my blog at: http://lose4life.wordpress.com
  6. Hello All I had fill #2 on Thursday. I went from 5ccs to 6.5 ccs. I have noticed a difference in that I have to eat smaller bites and chew more, or I get a pain, or a couple of hiccups. I can still eat quite a bit of food though...more than I should be eating. I am not getting the satiety, or dimming of appetite feeling. I can have my next fill on Thursday of this week. I am leaving Thursday evening for Canada. I will be up there until Monday evening. My question is: should I get a fill before I go to Canada or when I come back? I want to get to the "green" zone soon, but I don't want to do something foolish and leave me looking for an unfill when in Canada. Oh wise people, lend me your expertise. What to do now???

First, congrats on your weight loss and sticking with it. I was banded on 5/20, and I understand how you are feeling. Here is what I am doing, I am trying to get a variety in each meal...so rather than have just a shake, I have been having a few things per meail. For instance, here is my dinner - 1/2 cup Protein shake, with a 1/2 banana blended in, a few sips of broth, adn a sugar free Jello. I too feel bloated, but I just remind myself that I want to focus on healing. As for Vitamins, I just went yesterday to Costoc and got a brand new jar of Gummy Vitamins. It is great, it is l ike I have a little treat in the day, and am getting my multi-vit at the same time. Another treat is that I mad a pitcher of Arnold Palmer - 1/2 pitcher of crystal light lemonade, and 1/2 pitcher of fresh brewed tea. Serve it with lots of ice and a straw and it tastes so decadent. Good luck, and keep in touch. LL

    Day Three...

I was banded on Thursday, and feeling pretty good today. Like you, I felt much better at day 3....day 4 even better. I will return to work tomorrow. I have not told anyone. I figure a bowl of soup will not be suspicious. I'm going with a bowl of soup, thinned out apple sauce and a Jello. While my lunch will not be high in Protein, my morning and afternoon Protein shake will add to my daily protein intake. Keep me posted on your progress and I'll do the same. Also, I have blog if you would like to check it out Lose4life's Blog Thanks LL
