Sensitive question
My Doc told me to wait at least 6 weeks. My husband wasn't too happy, but we didn't actually make it..:w00t: LOL I would suggest taking it easy, you might irritate the port area. And depending where your your port is might make it a bit difficult at first. It could be quite painful rather than pleasurable. As my hubby demonstrated though when there's a will there's way. Being on top didn't do too much harm... HAHAHA!! (Hopefully, that wasn't too much of a TMI moment.)

Calling all Phoenix, AZ Lap-bander's free month of Corefitness Boot Camp Workouts
I wanted to let everyone know about Core Fitness Bootcamp, because it has worked for me and I want to let all you Phoenix, AZ lapbander's know it might work out for you. I was banded on 11/20/2010 and I have lost at least 40 pounds since I had my lap-band and have lost 60 pounds total since preparing for the beginning of my lap-band journey. I'm loving this new lifestyle!! I admit I did not really exercise until I started working out with Core Fitness bootcamp. Lee Gough is my Personal trainer and he is fantastic! He works with you and at a steady pace, of course he pushes one to challenge yourself. I often talked to him that this would be a great start for many new and old fellow lapbander's. He is willing to give a one month free trial to anyone who is interested. The Core Fitness Bootcamper's meet in Awatukee, North Phoenix and Arcadia Park (56th St and Indian School Road). The workouts are only 30 to 45 minutes long too!! There are workouts in the morning or evening. This is awesome too!! If anyone is interested email me your name and phone number at danielayomayra@gmail.com or just reply to this post and we can chat. This program has truly worked for me and I know that this would workout for whoever is interested. If you want to chat more feel free to contact me. :tt1: Daniela

Calories, Calories and Calories...
Hola! Saludos a todo's!! (Hi! To everyone!!) I have had a hard time trying to understand the calorie intake and how many calories you have to burn to get the results needed. (Hope that makes sense.) I remember my nutritionist saying that I have to take in a certain amount of calories and in turn burn a certain amount of calories to lose the weight. I have been tracking my calorie intake and I get no more than 500 to 800 calories in per day. However, there are days that I burn at least 500 calories. Am I supposed to burn the equal amount of calories I take in? I'm just a bit confused on the whole calorie intake and calories burned? Hope that makes sense, if not please tell me so. Thanks everyone in advance. :wink2:

Did you name your band?
Hahahaha!! I was laughing hard when I saw this thread. I soo named my band the first week I had it. I named Mine Pancho. It just sounded like a good name. My husband thought it was silly, but when something doesn't sit right in my tummy I always say "Aye, Pancho why do you do this to me." My husband finds it amusing. LOL

Help on a Situation, food bully
Hey! Thanks for the advice. The thing is that we hardly ever ate that kind of junk. I am a victim of overeating on good home cooked meals. And ever since my hubby's bro moved in he has been buying my husband all that nasty food and teasing me with it.I,m going to have a long talk with the husband. Thanks everyone, you guys have been a huge help.

Help on a Situation, food bully
Hi everyone..I had my surgery on 11/20/2009. I'm feeling great besides my port site being very sore..Bleh! I have a situation at home that I just can't explain to my husband without almost getting into an argument. My hubby has been so supportive throughout this whole procedure, but there's just a couple problems. My brother in law and my husband eat really horribly. My brother in law buys my husband all this horrible food. However, I feel like they are not helping me by bringing home Sonic, Burger king and McDonald's. Today I asked my husband to tell his brother to please not bring that type of food around the house anymore. I do not want to be selfish but, I just don't want to feel left out or tempted. Does that make sense?? My husband didn't seem to understand. Before and after surgery there have been times where my brother in law ate something in front of me really enjoying the food telling me "Too bad you can't have any" I was so mad but, did not say anything. How can I go about this without arguing and causing animosity between my brother in law and I?

i cant sleep on my back
Hi! I am one 9 days post op. I have the totally opisite thing going on. I am a stomach sleeper and I have had to sleep sitting. Up with lots of pillows on my back on the couch for the last 9 days..sucks real bad but, it helps me from not sleeping on my side or stomach. I have been on this website everyday since my surgery many have said it will get better in time. Just hang in there.

Lapband vs Realize
From what my surgeons nurse told me is the only difference in the bands are the ports. The Realize band has a smaller and flatter port than the Lap Band. During my lap band 202 class the nurse mentioned that if you have allot of belly fat the Realize band port is really hard to find, thus sending you to X-ray to locate the port. The Lap Band's port is is a little more wider, sticks out a bit when you loose the belly and is easier to locate by the touch. So, what was told to me is, if you really do not want to be sent to X-ray as much and you have allot of belly fat it's recommended to get the Lap Band. Other than that they pretty much work the same.

Dr's office just called and had a cancellation
I totally agree with following surgeons instructions and enjoying the holidays with the family. I take it as an early birthday, Christmas, Dia de tres Reyes Magos and everthing present for me and my health. And those who are in the process of getting sugery soon good luck and think of it as an early present for yourself and the rest of your life. Tootles! D
