  1. Welcome! Sounds like you are off to a great start! The time will actually go by a lot quicker than you think. This is a great place to talk to others who understand the ups and downs of weight loss. Good luck and keep up the good work!
  2. I had my pre-op visit to the hospital today. I have to be there on April 6th at 6:30. I am so happy that I am finally almost there!
  3. Congratulations! I hope everything goes great for you tomorrow! Thirteen more days for me!
  4. I voted for you Dawn, good luck!
  5. Congratulations Rita! Whoo Hoo!
  6. Good luck! Hopefully the second time's the charm for you! Keep us all posted!
  7. Hey Sue, My surgeon lets you start your pre-op diet when they submit your paperwork to your insurance company so when they get the approval you don't have to wait so long. I guess if you didn't get approved you would have done it for nothing! I actually started my pre-op diet on 3/8/10 and was not approved until 3/15/10. Good luck to you!!!
  8. rldm, I received my insurance approval letter on 3/15/10. I called the surgeon's office the next day and they said that they had received theirs too so they scheduled my surgery for 4/6/10, so it was about 3 weeks in between. My surgeon's office has you start your pre-op diet when they submit everything to the insurance so you will be ready to schedule when you are approved. Good luck with yours!
  9. I have been using the nasal pillows for about five years now. My headset came with three different sizes. Have you tried another size to see if it fits better, or maybe adjust your strap differently. I promise if you stick with it you will feel so much better because you will be getting a restful sleep at night! :cursing:
  10. Congratulations! I know you are so excited! I got my letter on Monday and have my surgery scheduled for April 6th. Whoo Hoo!
  11. I got my surgery date today! It's April 6th! Just 3 weeks from today!
  12. Congratulations! I know you are excited!
  13. I am excited! I knew that I should get approved since I had followed all the guidelines but I was a little afraid to be too confident in case they denied it. I think my surgery will be in April, hopefully I will know for sure what day tomorrow. When I told my husband that I got my approval he said "that's great but it's scary too".
  14. I got my insurance approval letter in the mail today!!! Tomorrow we are going to set a surgery date!!! WhooHoo!!!
  15. Good luck on Friday! I hope that everything goes well for you. I hope to be following you pretty soon!
  16. Good luck tomorrow! Hope everything goes well for you!!!
  17. I talked to my GYN at my yearly checkup about the lapband and he was all for it. He referred me to my surgeon. My particular surgeon has to have a referral either from a primary care doctor or GYN. Good Luck!
  18. I had my sleep study 5 years ago and have been sleeping with my c-pap since then. It did take a long time to get adjusted to it but now I sleep through the night every night without ever waking up and feel so much more rested the next day. All that said, I am so looking forward to getting rid of it one day!
  19. Hi Deb, I have a 4 week pre-op diet. I use EAS with skim milk for my proteins shakes for breakfast and lunch. For dinner I have a serving of meat (not fried) and either 2 servings of veggies or 1 veggie and 1 fruit. No potatoes, pasta, rice, or sugar. No caffeine or carbonated drinks. This is my particular doctor's pre-op diet. I think it really depends on your doctor. Good luck with your surgery!
  20. Psue, I have a protein shake for breakfast and lunch and for dinner I have meat and 2 veggies. No bread, pasta, rice, etc.... Only water, decaf unsweet tea with splenda, crystal light to drink.
  21. I have lost 10 pounds on the first week of my pre-op diet! I know it is mostly water but it's still weight! My willpower has been pretty good so far and I haven't cheated at all. I think knowing that I have my surgery to look forward to is keeping me keeping on! :smile2:
  22. Oh, I might have sounded confusing! I drink a protein shake for breakfast and lunch and then eat a low carb meal for dinner. It says to drink only water. I was wondering if I could have decaf tea with splenda.
  23. :confused:Ok, I started my pre-op diet yesterday and it says only water to drink. I wonder if it's ok to drink decaf tea with splenda? Of course my docs office is closed so I can't call them until tomorrow. Did anyone else's pre-op diet call for just water? I am dying for some iced tea.
