  1. I have extreme pain above my iv site. They did it on my inside forearm. I have a HUGE bruise as I don't take needs well. Anyways the pain I have is closer to my elbow up halfway to my underarm. It feels swollen and very sore. Did anyone else have this and what was your remedy?
  2. I was banded on 11-11. I was to stay on full liquids for 7 days but it also said in my notes that I could progress to mushies if I'm not feeling full. I am definitely feeling full (barely eating at all) just bored and I DO NOT want anymore of those horrible shakes. Yesterday I had some SF pudding and today I had some broccoli cheese Soup (blended up really well). I tolerated it just fine. Do you think it's ok for me to move to mushies now? I would like to have some egg and cottage cheese to get some Protein into me.

    Any November 2009 Bandsters??

I'm on my third day out and I am feeling much better. I was down 4.5 lbs today...total of 16.5. I still really haven't pooped. I took 3 stool softeners but they did nothing. Then I went and got some Milk of Magnesia and that just helped a little. The gas pain has subsided so the only real pain I have is constipation and at the incision sites. I'm all full liquids and not hungry at all. That must be a first. :cool2: I did the grocery shopping today ..was nice to get out for a little. I have to work a couple hours tomorrow so we'll see how I make out driving. I'm tracking what I eat on FitDay. And tracking my weightloss on my Wii Fit. When I think about it I can't believe I actually did it. I can't believe I spent $16,000 to be healthy! I can't believe I needed to go to this extreme. But I wouldn't change a thing.

I'm on the other side! Yeh! Surgery was yesterday at the SWLC in Mississauga, ON. I feel good... just tired and shoulder pain. Just about ready for me first post-op shower and some nice yummy chicken broth

    Any November 2009 Bandsters??

fmrogers That is the best thing about working from home...napping during the day! Yes, the first 3 days are very rough so I tried to take it very easy. To avoid the temptations I just go for a walk or sleep. Congratulations!
  6. Thanks....I know it's mostly fluff and water weight. I did have a huge binge fest just before I started the pre-op diet. But it sure is encouraging to finally be losing! I remember how good it feels :)

Did you cheat on pre-op liquid diet

I cheated my first few days. Halloween included. Then guilt set in and I read about cheating and felt better because most doctors don't require the pre-op diet. Then I read about ketosis and how important it is to stay below 30g of carbs and how not doing that gets you out of ketosis and that was enough for me to stick to it. I don't want to keep getting headaches from not eating so for me it's just easier to stay in ketosis. I also don't feel hungry when I avoid sugar and carbs so that helps...and it's good practice. I gained alot of weight the 2 weeks prior to pre-op because of the "last meal" mentality. Now when I feel hunger or feel like I want to eat something bad I exercise. When I quit smoking I countered it with exercise and that helped so much. I paid $16,000 out of my own pocket for this surgery...I can't afford to screw it up.

    Any November 2009 Bandsters??

I have my date too! November 11th :scared2: Boy won't this be something to remember. I'm really struggling with the liquid pre-op and I cheated the first few days but yesterday I stuck to it. I'm down 11 lbs since Oct 28.
