  2. Thanks so much for the feedback Jacqui. I am definitely going to stick to my current diet as long as it's working.
  3. Thanks for the feedback guys. greytz, I go to the gym 2-3 days a week right now. I'd like to go 5 days a week but I live in a rural area and it's a 40 minute drive each way. While at home I use my resistance cords and Richard Simmons workout DVD's though. I am preparing myself though, because I know that once I hit my sweet spot, I'll most likely have to cut carbs out. My second fill is December 22
  4. I'm 3 months out and have had one fill (3.7 cc in a 14cc band) I'm currently consuming about 1400-1500 calories per day. I'm definitely not eating as much as before but I feel like I'm overeating because my NUT says I should only be eating 800-1000 calories. I am eating lean meats, veggies, fruits, wheat bread, Pasta and even sweets every now and then (in moderation) My doctor and NUT are big on the Low carb diet but I have a very hard time following it. My NUT pretty much told me that if I didn't follow the low carb diet I wouldn't lose weight, but at 1400-1500 calories per day on my own diet, I'm still losing 2-3 lbs a week (which I'm happy with) I guess my question is, Has anyone else had success by eating a balanced diet with carbs or will I eventually crash and burn? I know I won't be able to eat that much once I get great restriction but am I okay until then?
  5. I'm hungrier than I was 2 weeks ago definitely. I'm hoping for a fill because right now it's all willpower no band help LOL
  6. Glad I'm not the only one. I had a 8.5 oz healthy choice meal and 1/4 cup applesauce and was worried I was eating too much. I can't wait for my first fill. I need restriction.
  7. I was banded on the 23rd and I do the same thing. I see my doctor on the 27th and he will decide If I need a fill or not. He said if I was still losing then there was no need for one yet.
  8. I had this to happen with a Ritz cracker but it went down on it's own. I read that eating meat tenderizer (seasoning) would help? Not sure but it's worth a try.
  9. Congrats on being banded and your 9 lb loss! I had my band placed on Sept 23 and like you, I was starvin marvin for the first week. Now that you are on mushies, try adding 1 oz of banana and a teaspoon of natural Peanut Butter to a Protein shake. It's a good way to stay full for hours.
  10. I am 19 days post op and I know what you mean about it not feeling like you have a band. I am waiting for that magical thing called the "sweet spot" that everyone talks about LOL I am still on soft-solid stage and I am afraid to cheat and eat something I used to eat. I eat a lot of low fat tuna and chicken salad with wheat thins or reduced fat Ritz, sugar free popsicles and pudding, eggs, shrimp, fish, and veggie burgers. I find that if I drink my Protein about an hour before I eat I stay full longer and don't eat as much.
  11. Hi everyone, I'm Rick. I was banded on September 23rd at CAMC Memorial in Charleston, WV by Dr. Robert Shin. I had a rough patch about a week after surgery in which I became depressed and thought I had made a horrible decision to have the band, but now a week later I am doing great. I have lost 15 lbs as of October 2, and will be weighing in again this Monday. I look forward to chatting with others on the same journey.
