  1. Before I got my band, I spent 2 years with a therapist, working out most of my problems about food, self-esteem, etc. It was the best thing I ever did! I now know that I deserve to be healthy (not just thinner). I feel good about myself and want to eat healthy so that I can live a long and happy life. I'm finally losing weight for me, and that's the most important thing. The band is just a tool to help me achieve my goals.
  2. I was banded Oct. 26. I lost about 15 pounds in the first couple of weeks, but nothing since. I work out every day, two days with a trainer. Still nothing. I was kind of depressed until I read some of your posts. Thanks. Now I see that this is pretty normal. It makes me feel better. I think the advice about the inches makes sense. I am wearing jeans I haven't worn in a long time. Thanks again for making me feel better.
  3. Thanks SOOO much for the info. I'm having my surgery 10/26 at Barnes West. That's where the support group meets. Too far to go. Herrin sounds much better. Maybe I'll see you there! BTW - when did you get your band? How are you doing with it? I can't wait!!
  4. If you find one, please spread the word. I, too, am looking for a support group in Mt. Vernon, Marion, or Carbondale.
  5. HI! I live in Mt. Vernon and am looking for a support group in the area - Mt. Vernon, Marion, Carbondale, etc. I will have surgery on 10-26 in St. Louis, but would like a support group closer to home. Any ideas are appreciated! Thanks.
