I have been wanting weight loss surgery for almost 2 years and was denied repeatedly by my insurance. I finally decided to pay for my surgery by myself and now it was been two years. It has not been an easy road and I have actually talked people out of the surgery. After one year my band slipped and I needed to have a second surgery. It took about 6 months after the second surgery before I began to see results again. I have had problems with throwing up off and on and now experience reflux for the first time in my life.
With all of that said, i have worked closely with my surgeon and continued to get fills and unfills until i found a tightness that worked for me. I am pretty limited on my food. I eat a lot of soup! I cant eat bread or pasta or carbonated drinks. I can eat chicken and fish in moderation but a good med rare filet mignon goes right down.
At the two year mark I have lost over 70 lbs and went from a size 16 to a 6/8. I just recently had an arm lift, breast lift and reverse tummy tuck. I am very pleased with the results but am actually thinking it is time for one last fill. I have less than 20 lbs to go until I reach my goal and I know I will get there.
