Another update... My RNY was completed on Friday by Dr. Caruana. I am so pleased that I decided to do this and while Dr. Posner put me through hell, it was a sign that the band was not going to work for me. I will say that the surgery was more painful than expected but recovery was very quick...very and that is with three young kids including twins. Thanks again for going on this roller coaster ride with me...what a nightmare with a happy ending.

hoffman never called me back nor did posner. I am livid with the office and how they have responded. I should have seen the signs from day one with the nasty receptionist. The only person who actually gave a crap was the cool skinny chick who did the weigh ins. She was great. As for everyone else...they can go to %$** for all I care. I am happy with my decision to do RNY instead but still..I feel the office should have been more professional.

Hello again Just wanted to check in and say hello as well as give an update.. I have decided to go for "the big one" with caruana. My open gastric bypass is scheduled for May 10 @ 2:30. Very excited and feel very at peace with my decision. It makes me realize that having posner cancel me may have been the best and worst thing that could have happened to me. Wishing you all luck!!! hello ladies...sorry I haven't posted in awhile... It's been very frustrating to say the least. I had my appt with Dr. Pham and was sooo happy and relieved with the way the office worked and the staff. I was in and out in an hour and everyone was beyond accommodating. A huge difference from the way I was treated at buff gen. Anyhow, I had to have a gallbladder u/s to rule out stones and will have my surgery the end of April. I wish I had gone this route from the start. I am still dealing and processing what happened to me with dr. posner. I still can't believe no phone calls returned, even after several were left with his secretary. Anyhow...hope to be on my way!

Happy New Year Band friends. Hope this year will bring me a new life! I was on vacation for the past week and will call Hoffman on monday to see what is up. In the meanwhile, Synergy is collecting my paperwork. blah....

Well..I may wind up with Hoffman after all of this nonsense. Posner just let me know that it would be up to hoff so we shall see what happens. I just want to get this done and over with!!!!! Please wish me luck!

Posner won't let me switch to Hoffman... I'm off to Caruana's office tomorrow to meet them. I hate this.

Rain - Who did her surgery? Pham? Was it open or scope? I'd be curious to know..

val - thanks for the info. I have heard horror stories about caruana's practice...all coming from physicians who have operated with him so I have my hesitations. I agree that buffgen is very disorganized as well. Woudl you believe that a receptionist called me to confirm my post op visit four hours after my surgery was cancelled??? I am in a state of shock and the devastation I am feeling today is huge. I look forward to speaking with hoffman to see if I can make a switch... Thank you everyone for the feedback and support. I truly truly appreciate it!

I was told to wait a few months...A FEW MONTHS! I have started this process in the summer..... I had already lost the 15 lbs he asked me to lose in the beginning. I called hoffman tonight (he is a family friend and partially the reason why I didn't go to him in the first place) and told him what happened. He was so nice...I am going to try and switch to him but it will be tricky as dr posner runs the program and could certainly kick me out all together, which leaves me with caruana's practice... As I said before, timing is so big for me because of my kids. My babysitter is off from school and had planned on staying with me for the entire 4 weeks that I am not supposed to lift anything. The next time I have off is during the summer and I just can't do that. I feel what he did to me today and to be honest the whole process was very unjust and perhaps unethical. I am devastated beyond words.... Hoffman is going to try and switch me over.... I will find out more tomorrow.

Vicki - he wasn't really nasty but it's always hard to discuss your wrong-doings kwim? I am tempted to call hoffman but am afraid that once I do that I will be labeled a problem in the practice and then no one will operate on me! So depressed....

His reasoning was that I was moving in the wrong direction weight wise. Nothing I can do now except stay on a clean track and revisit this in a couple of weeks or months...who knows.

it's just insane. I have 3 young children and had childcare all set up...everything set up. And now..who knows when we will reschedule. I just want to sleep forever.

my surgery was cancelled. I was up 4 lbs and posner cancelled it. I am numb....
