Good afternoon all! I just returned from Costco and it was murder remembering not to buy all the enticing foods on display. I'm not going to be able to eat them...Duh??? I still can't believe that my surgery is in 2 days. Thanks for the well wishes and warm thoughts. I did get my Flintstone Complete vitamins from there and a rotisserie chicken. Need the protein and the baby loves it! I am going to my favorite restaurant this evening and can't wait. Yes, I'm having a last meal. It will be garlic crab and garlic noodles from Thanh Long's Restaurant in San Francisco. My husband, my sister whose expecting her first child on 10/25 and myself. Yes, she's tagging along and we don't mind. We are considering this both of our last meals. I plan to eat it all. I am going to do the Milk of Mag...two days in a row...Tomorrow and Tuesday-the day of the surgery. Wish me luck!!! Question, is anyone going to the Richmond support group meeting on Wednesday night??? If, and only if...I'm feeling up to it. I may go. I think it would be great to see some of you and for others to see someone who is 1 day post-op!!!! later.................................:confused:

Hello All!!!!!! I'm getting banded on TUESDAY! Any last words of advice. Dr. Fisher is my surgeon too! Questions??? 1. What kind of pain meds do they give? During and after??? 2. How soon were you all able to move around and return to work? What do i need to do over the weekend and the day/night before. I have taken off work on Monday to do the last minute stuff....ie. grocery shop, get milk of mag, and chewable Vitamins. I already have the chewable calcium citrate. Do I sound crazy???:thumbdown:

Unfortunately, I will not make this meeting. I will try for the 3rd Wednesday. Even though that one may be the day after my surgery! It's my turn on October 20th I can't wait! Gettig excited! You all love to shop and I can't wait to join in! I just need more money. On a serious note, it is somewhat frustrating not to have much to wear and for clothes that you genuinely like to be to BIG! Not worth altering, going to have to start ALL over once I lose the weight!

Hello All, So I am one of the lurkers you all were speaking about! I don't know where to start....Okay here goes! I FEEL LIKE I'M BEING JERKED AROUND! TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT...MY SURGERY IS BEING RESCHEDULED...AGAIN! DON'T REMEMBER IF I TOLD YOU ALL BUT, MY ORIGINAL SURGERY DATE WAS 9/30. LIZ CALLED ME WEEKS AGO AND SAID THE BARIATRIC DEPT WAS NOT GOING TO HAVE THE OR AT THAT TIME. SHE CHANGES MY DATE TO 10/14. OKAY, FINE.... WHY DID SHE CALL ME....AGAIN ON TUESDAY, THIS PAST TUESDAY AND TELL ME WE HAVE TO RESCHEDULE ME AGAIN....UGH!!!!! AS IF I AM NOT ALREADY NERVOUS ENOUGH. MY NEW SURGERY DATE IS 10/20. ONE WEEK LATER! SHE FELT BAD AND SO DID DR. FISHER, I WAS HIM THE VERY NEXT DAY, WEDNESDAY, 9/23. I EXPRESSED MY FRUSTRATION TO BOTH AND WOULD NOT BE SURPRISED I GET A CALL WITH A CANCELLATION..... DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT'S WITH THE SCHEDULING AND OR DR. FISHER??????

Hello Everyone! Whew! Well the weekend is almost over. I am extremely tired. I hosted a baby shower for my one and only sister yesterday. It was fabulous! I can now return to focusing on myself and losing weight...So hard when planning a shower with 4 others. I have an appt with Dr. Fisher on Wed. at 3:45pm. I am getting nervous..But excited still the same. Question? What should I expect at this appt??? Hope all are well :biggrin:

Good Evening Everyone1 Candra and Jes, good luck with your upcoming surgeries! Whoo Hoo! I am so happy for you. Iam getting into gear too. I guess I am okay with telling other people that I am having the procedure. I guess I better get used to it...now that it is getting closer. I was scared. I know that I am getting comfortable because I am beginning to tell other people and I actually told one of the servers at my fav family restaurant this AM. I was in a bit of shock hearing the words, "I am getting ready to have a Lap Band placed". And to think I said this to her as she prepared to take my almost full plate away. I have trained myself to not eat much and still....I am satisfied! I have a serious question??? Are you post-op peops REALLY following the 1200 diet??? I hope all are well and on the way to a strong, healthy hot, sexy body!

I too have Dr Fisher. I was 255lbs and he told me to get to 225. That's 30lbs. I originally thought that was crazy because if I could do it...trust me I would... Who would have thought that even after a baby I was able to do it! I am now 220 and awaiting my surgery date. I think I can make it...even with all my issues.

Does anyone have Dr Fisher???

Thanks again for the replies! I am on an exercise, water drinking... MISSION! I have approx 5 weeks before my scheduled surgery. Hopefully, it will be all out of my system. If not, I pray it is a trace amount. Maybe I can say I ate a laced Brownie unknowingly at a party??? LOL! Seriously, I am only an occasional user and do not think this is going to be a problem. I just can't help but think something is going to go wrong. I have been waiting for this since before getting pregnant with my 2nd child. Now, I am done having babies and consider this ME TIME! I need to get this weight under controll. I want to be here to enjoy these babies...and ALL LIFE HAS TO OFFER!

Let me in here!!!! I am scheduled for 10/14/09 and boy am I nervous. It may sound wierd but...I am nervous about losing too much weight. I don't want to be super skinny. My goal is 150/160. With that said...I have 70-80lbs to lose. My current weight is 220lbs. My max was 265.... I started the program back in 2006 at 255. I have lost 35lbs. Whooo Hoooo! I am trying to get to 215lbs by my surgery date... which will leave me with 65-75lbs to lose.... Am I being realistic? How much can you expect to lose with the Lap Band???? How are you able to stop losing????

Hello all, I too have PCOS too. I originally started the Bariatric Program in 2006. My goal was to have another child so the Lap Band was selected for me. That is why it seems as though I have been waiting to get banded forever. I did have another baby. She is amazing. She just turned 1 years old. I do not plan to have anymore babies. It is finally me time. I have lost the pre-surgery weight and have a scheduled surgery date of 10/14/09. I will be happy to be rid or have lessened the issues that come along with PCOS. Lots of luv and baby dust to all who want babies!!!!

Hello Everyone! I too am nervous as heck. My surgery is October 14. I am trying to lose at least 5lbs by then.

I definately want to stay alive. Let me set the record straight! I am no where near addicted. I was an occasional user. I have not indulged since recieving my surgery date. The last time was 8/20. My surgery is on 10/14. That is approx 8 weeks. Hopefully it will be undetectable. What do you all think???

I have quit. Just wondering how long it will stay in my system. I have heard various things and there is so much on the internet. What's the worst they could say/do??? Will they kick me out totally or make me reschedule???

Okay All, I'm new here and have a scheduled surgery date of 10/14/09! I have a question??? Does Kaiser Permanente do a drug test/test for marijuana in the Pre-Op testing??? Will they deny me from my surgery if I test Positive??? What should I do???

Excuse me for chiming in but... Does Kaiser Richmond test for Marijuana usage during Pre-op test??? I need to know...Quick!

Hello ladies, Im new here too! I live in Pittsburg, Ca and I have a scheduled banding date of 10/14. I am a bit nervous. My surgeon is Dr. Fisher. I just hit surgery goal last month. Liz actually had a cancellation back on 8/24 but that was my first day of work and I could not take it. I selected 9/30 and she called me last week and had to re-schedule...again. I need to hurry and get it over with. I am so nervous.....
