"My kids just don't like vegetables!"
Well thats pretty much the norm around here. Lol I have salad everyday and everyday I ask her if she wants to try it........nope. Fruits are always available here thats still a no. There are 3 of us in our household, my husband and I have never showed a negative attitude towards food. I hate mcdonalds food so no heavenly attitude there. Lol yuck! I think its just going to take time before she shows any interest in new food. I was pretty picky about food until I was about 18 years old. But that was because I was tramatized by my mothers cooking! (yes it was that bad!) Time, I think it will work itself out.

"My kids just don't like vegetables!"
Side note, my daughter is a very active child. Tball, soccer, 2 hours of dance a week. Gets home from school rides her bike, or scooter with the other neighborhood kids till dark! If I can't get her to eat right at least she is active. Lol maybe i'm getting it half right!

"My kids just don't like vegetables!"
I will use my indoor voice. Lol I have a daughter who will not try anything new. Do you have kids, if so maybe you have a way to get them to try new things? Cause i'm at my whits end! I as a parent hate the fact my daughter has a limited diet. Not for lack of trying btw, I loV e vegetables and fruit. I have talked to her ped about it and she says she is normal weight and is healthy. She said you can't force food you want her to eat down her throat. So idk at least shes eating. We went through that phase also! Lol

Unrealistic goals
You can do it! I have lost 55 pounds since August, 80 all together. Whatch your calories and exercise @ least 30 minutes to an hour everday or every other day. You will make your goal!

am i too tight?! URGENT
The band is funny that way. Usually I don't feel anything change until a few days out. But this last one was immediate! Doing the 2 days of liquid or soft food helps a great deal.

Pinch me I must be dreaming!
Soooooo happy for you!!!!!!!! Keep up the good work!

am i too tight?! URGENT
Yes, every time I have gotten a fill they always tell me only liquids for the first 2 days. Call your doc and check, but yes try liquids for a day or two and see how that works for you.

am i too tight?! URGENT
Did your doc tell you only eat liquids for 2 to 3 days after your fill? Thats what mine has me do. You should call your docs office and find out your guidelines for eating after a fill.

O my! You are busy!!!!!!!!! the first 8 months of being banded I lost 25 pounds. Sad but I was not motivated to get off my butt! My daughters first day of school in August I went for a walk. Then the next day and the next. I dropped 18 pounds in a month. Wohoo lol Since August I am down 55 pounds and its slow but so what! Lol and I havent made the best choices along the way and I have learned from them. You bet your butt I sneek a bite of mac and cheese or a french fry here or there. Seriously though I think I would fail if I denied myself those little pleasures once a week or once every 2! Not as a reward, just living life!

No I dont judge people on their weight gain or loss or if they stay the same. I support people just like people have supported me. I take a personal issue with Spartan because in a previous post he said "thats why military men would rather be deployed than spend time with their wives." Seeing how I am a military wife, that statement pissed me off! Everything he says has no value to me. What a stupid thing to assume! So yep I have zero tolernce for someone like that!

I agree with you 100%. But this was not a post where the OP eats bad everyday. I see those posts also about eating whatever they want. Most of the time I ignore them or suggest lower calories or more exerciise. It's not my place or anyone elses to Judge them or make them feel stupid. Spartan more often than not makes awful comments than good ones. please don't defend him.

Maybe you should choose your words more carefully. I took back the negative comment, I apologize.

Congrats on your new journey! Be better than I was the first few months! Lol Follow your docs diet plan, I know its hard the first few weeks, but it will get better. If you do make a mistake or gain a pound along the way don't beat yourself up. Learn from it and move forward. You will be alright!

And thank you and him for doing all that you do!

Listen? Really? I'm sorry that you have not dealt with your issues. Cause wow! Really? Sugar for weeks and weeks!? You know fluffy I have been overweight for 20 years. Forgive me if I decided to post a good and positive experiance I had. I can tell from your other posts and this one that you are a negative person. So I realize you don't like it when someone else does well. Just an observation. This was not meant to be a i'm better than you post. Just my experiance and what works for me. It may not work for everyone but it might help someone. Did you really even NEED to make a comment here?

I know! One of the best things that I have gotten from the band is knowing I won't be trapped in this body my whole life! Pre band I would cry at night because I felt so desperate to lose weight and felt like there was nothing I could do. That first night home from surgery even though I was in pain, I was so happy because I knew my life had changed for the better! It has taken me a year and a half to lose those 80 pounds, but all that time was worth it. I have stumbled along the way but I pick myself back up and get right back on track! Those days of I cheated so whats the use are gone. It must suck to not indulge in a bad food every once in a while.

I maintained........
Going into last week I knew I was not going to follow my healthy eating habits. It was my daughter's birthday and one of her friends. Like I was going to pass up pizza and cake! lol So I said hmmmm maybe instead of focusing on losing weight this week I should just try to maintain. I have lost 80 pounds and have another 45 to go. Believe me I feel great and I know I have time to get the rest of that weight off. I did my 30-60 minutes at the gym 4 days last week. And YES I indulged in pizza and cake. And I maintained my current weight. This week I am back to eating healthy and have lost a pound. I have seen some posts here that make me cringe. One of the most ridiculous things is no you can't eat this or that or you can't eat fast food and expect to lose. Well, Portion Control and exercise are the keys to making this work. Of course we can't eat at Mcdonalds or some place like that everyday. But to cut yourself off from everything! That's just crazy! Remember skinny people eat pizza too! (just in moderation)

Tricare Prime-- Not overweight long enough?
Tricare prime is the BOMB! The process was easy and smooth. When I first talked to my pcm about lap band, he told me he didnt think I would get approved........1 month later I had my surgery date! It's been a year and a half and I have lost 80 pounds. (i was a slacker for the first few months) doc billed tricare $33,000 and tricare paid $6,000. Tricare has also taken care of the adjustments (fills). Total out of pocket for me was $50 for pysc eval, and $100 for protien shakes stuff the surgeon had me do preband. Money well spent! Good luck!
