  1. This is my third week post-op and I completely understand why this was created; I actually was so worried this morning that I searched this site for a forum like this to make sure I wasn't alone. I am three pounds up from the morning of my surgery- it drives me nuts because I am healing very fast and have a huge appetite! I have three more weeks before my first fill, in my first post-op my doctor said that I was healing extremely fast and that I would probably be grumpy starting in the next couple of weeks. Nothing about gaining weight though, and so I have been tearing my hair out trying to understand why I don't feel much restriction when I eat. Now I get it! ColoradoBanding, are you worried because of the concern/depression people are feeling, or the lack of good information the doctors are doling out? My doctor put together a packet of information on post-op for me to read, and NOWHERE did it talk about how I would get really hungry and might gain weight again before my first fill or even in the first few months. Your doctor was a lot better at giving out complete information which would certainly help-- that's why I am glad these forums are around!
  2. Hi, I am "new" to this site in that I just registered today, but I have lurked around here in the months before I banded. Yesterday was my surgery day, and I have to say already I have found these forums to be a great resource. After I got home and rested up, I decided to step on the scale and WOAH that was a mistake! It said I was up 9 pounds. I freaked out and started to worry about the band and what had happened. Today I weigh only 6 pounds over my pre-banded weight, and realized I need to push these fluids to get the hospital meds and things they pumped into me flushed out. I am glad these forums are here, if they weren't I would still be freaking out thinking there was something completely wrong with ME. As far as just getting banded, I was wondering if anyone had some advice as to what protein shakes are good?? I am currently drinking SNI Pro Whey Advanced Protein Blend in chocolate, and it tastes like choco-dust to me. Not a fan of chocolate as it is, but I knew it would be a safe bet for getting protein in me. Does anyone have any reccomendations for someone who doesn't like chocolate? Also, when did others start to feel better? I feel like I did a bazillion crunches yesterday. Thanks!!
  3. Glad this came up in the posts. This is my first day post-surgery. When I got home from the hospital I freaked a little because I was up 9 pounds! Today I am up 6 pounds. I wondered if the lap band could really be just that heavy, but this morning when I woke up with a gross taste in my mouth I realized I need to be pumping Water to get the hospital crap out of my system. Thanks again for bringing this question up, I was a little worried that it was just me!
