New Guy Here....
Congrats on getting your surgery date. Just wanted to give you some encouragement. I'm down 134 lbs. in about 18 mos. I'd like to lose another 70 and I know with the help of my band I can do this. It's taken a lot of hard work, but it's definitely worth it. Good luck to you!

Bruising & Bleeding with fills
I never bleed much but I always bruise. My fills usually are harder as I'm still pretty large. Usually takes 3 or 4 sticks before my doc hits it. Hopefully it will get better soon! Hang in there and I hope it gets better for you.

Best Solution for Nausea?
Yep, I had to get a prescription from the doc for meds. Was well worth it though. The nausea was worse than the surgery! Good luck to you.

What pushed you to commit?
I've been overweight most of my life and tried many diets. My 1st marriage ended 7 years ago and one of the reasons was my weight. I was left to raise 2 boys pretty much alone. Needless to say, the weight kept going up. 4 years ago I met a wonderful man online and we married in 2004. He loves me for who I am and didn't care about the weight except to say he wanted me healthy so we could be together forever. The turning point came last summer when we took my boys to the airport to fly to CA to be with their dad. I ended up getting a wheelchair to go the gate with them as I couldn't walk very far. That opened my eyes to how much of life I'm missing out on. I realized that I was going to die much sooner than I needed to. Now with 60 lbs gone, I feel so much better. I have much more to go, but I WILL succeed this time. Good luck to you!

Anything you would go back and do before surgery if you had a chance to do it over?
And take your measurements! Sometimes you can see more in that number than you can on the scales.

Anyone in Idaho been banded in Idaho?
Sorry to hear that. But I do understand. Mine wasn't covered by insurance either so I had to pay myself. But it's definitely been worth it. Good luck, and welcome to Idaho! Did you move here for a job or just because it's wonderful here!

Anyone in Idaho been banded in Idaho?
I was banded on Sept. 11th by Dr. Cahn in Boise. He's been wonderful and I've lost 55 lbs. since my first consult with him in July. His office is in the St. Luke's building on Eagle Rd. and the freeway. Good luck! Lemme know if I can answer any questions.

September Bandsters
Just an update...I was banded on the 11th and I'm back to work today. Absolutely no pain and haven't taken paid meds since I left the hospital. Came home on the 12th and had a pretty rough bout of nausea, but Dr. Cahn prescribed something for that and it passed. Have had a couple smaller bouts with it, but basically am feeling really well. Am keeping water down and some jello. But tried broth and SlimFast and those didn't settle well. Am very gassy....how fun is that??? Anyway, I'm feeling great and cannot believe how pain-free I am. Good luck to the rest!

Angie, Yeah, I was on 3 SlimFasts a day and all the veggies I wanted. I cheated some, but not too bad. It's been so long since I lost ANY weight that this seems huge! Good luck to you too. I'll check in next week!

Hello Idaho Folks
So far right at 28 lbs. I'm doing only SlimFast from now until next Wed. If I don't lose enough and he wants to reschedule AGAIN, I'm not sure if I can do it again. It's mentally getting to me. Feeling like a failure, all that crap.
