Stephanie, I think your story is awesome. I am so happy that your here, I so need help. I am stuck, and I am hating it right now. At first it seemed like the pounds were coming off so easily, now here I sit stuck at 202. UGH. I just want to get moving again and I can't, and I am so disappointed. You shouldnt have to find your own surgeon.. my referral was put in.. and I got a letter in the mail.. with the surgeons name on it and all information... ask your pcm to just put a referral in for a bariatric surgeon.. tricare will inform you of who you will go to :tongue2:

omg your too funny!!! I just don't want to trade in my soldier boy!!! I want to keep him, and be around for many years to aggrevate him.. hehe.. hence the surgery!:smile2:

I was banded on 17 August 09.. Everything went well.. I was on the treadmill.. and decided it was time to start jogging.. so I began, and felt this pull feelingnear my port...two weeks later, I finally went back to my Doctor, after feeling this pain intermittently.. and also like a bulging near the port site... they sent me over to the hospital for a cat scan same day.... and its a pocket of fluid surrounding my port... in time my body will absorb it.. they also started me on an antibiotic.. they can drain the fluid.. but with me getting ready to move to colorado if 5 days, its better to let me absorb it.. if its a continual issue.. it cannot hurt to have your Doc check it out.. what could have been a big mess for me, was easily thwarted by an appt, a cat scan.. and a confident surgeon!

Yeah I hate that when the PCM, tries to tell you what or what not tricare will approve... Although I am diabetic, and 100 pounds overweight... my approval went easily... You know you can call tricare at anytime during this process and find out.. I was told by tricare on the phone I was approved just by calling them... Stay ontop of it, like anything military its hurry up and wait, unless you stay on it!! Good luck.. waiting to hear how you did!

I was banded in August 09.. same thing.. my BP super low 90/54.. checked with nurse.. they aren't concerned about it.. so no stress..

TNewton.. I am an army wife, and completely understand what your going thru.. We are getting ready to move to Ft Carson Co, next week!! Ugh.. New lapband.. New adventure.. New life.. many new things for sure!

I think it can be a roller coaster.. so many changes.. and your alone.. being a military wife, I understand the alone part... We all make mistakes.. but the beauty about them is.. they are mistakes.. we know we did them, and its time to try to think and act differently. i wouldnt beat you up over making a mistake... The roller coaster is absolutely insane.. but there are people who care about you, who wil help you thru this!!! Take a deep breath.. close your eyes and remember why you wanted this surgery, what you want to accomplish.. and move forward... hugs! sounds like you need one

Lets see if this helps... I am 100 pounds over weight, I am diabetic, high bp, high cholesterol, chronic lower back pain, suffer migraines... I am at 100% pay w/tricare prime. Husband active duty... Tricare paid the whole kit and kaboodle.. If your not getting str8 answers, or consistency.. ask to speak to a supervervisor.. pls let us know how you are doing

my paperwork was submitted on August 7th to Tricare.. It was approved August 10th ( over a weekend, Friday being the 7th, Monday the 10th ).. Surgery on the 17th!.. You can call tricare anytime.. find out if there was anything submitted.. good luck!

I need it... and im so ready for it!! I am very hungry.. s ucks.. because i feel like i can eat any amt of food.. and i really thought i wouldnt feel this hungry.. im hoping i wont feel it.. after the fill i am praying so
