I take Wellbutrin ( about the size of an M&M ) I cut it in half every morning. There are some days i have trouble with that. 7 months post op I still would not dream of taking pills whole. I DO take my topamax whole but they are the size of well they are as small as these little smileys I cant cut those though . and going off that was not an option for my migraines. I DID run into a problem with those my last fill when i was too tight i had to go in for an unfill though . Still gonna go try the Rapid Blasts LOL Mindy

I would not have been able to get a whole ANYTHING down 4 days after surgery , I would have been in BIG Trouble with my stomach AND MY DOC. I agree always follow YOUR DOCTORS ADVICE ! Mindy

All the medical loans are different. Some places if you get a loan for $7500 they charge so many fees your doctor only gets $6000 so you have to make up the difference. Most of them dont even let you put down payments so that does not help you . You can make $1000 payment up front OR what would be better is if you have $1000 cash if your surgery is $7500 only get a loan for $6500. Your best bet is to try to get a loan from a bank or a Credit union if you can. My loan was for $8000 and my payments are $340 a month . My interest rate is HIGH . HTH Mindy

I had no idea there was adult strenght liquid tylenol. You said Walmart has it ? Another option is the Tylenol Meltaway Jr's ? I usually take 2 of those. They are a little sweet but not as sweet as the children's. I have chronic Migraines , usually the first thing i would do is take 800 mg of Aleve to see if that will help get rid of it before taking my RX meds. I cant do that anymore. So Im going to see if i can find the Adult strength Tylenol tomorrow . Thanks MIndy

I would NOT Suggest this since she was banded just 4 days Ago . Every doc is different and since HER DOC told her to take liquids that is what she would do . If your doc told you to crush meds or take liquid med then that is what I would do . When in doubt make a call to your doc. So many docs have different recommendations. There are reasons for THEIR policies. Mindy

For this type of loans 9.5 is not high . These type of loans are more of "High" Risk type loans so they tend to run higher interest rates. You were VERY lucky. If you went through your bank or something that is probably why you got such a good deal . To actually go through medicredit.com or some place like that your rates are going to be MUCH higher . If your credit score is below about 620 you most likely will not be able to get a loan through the finance companies the docs use . I had to go through all this and i know more about credit than I care to thanks to my bankruptcy. You can find our your credit score by going to myFICO - FICO Credit Scores | Get a Free Credit Report Online and paying for it. The other credit type monitoring sites are NOT REAL Fico scores they are called FAKO scores. if you know what your FICO is you have a better chance of knowing what you can get if you can get a loan ? Just an FYI about a few things. You must have pretty good to excellent credit. I have "Decent Credit" but do have a bankcruptcy my intrest rate on my loan was 17% ! However if i pay it off in the first yr any interest paid is refunded. I too stayed in the states. But realize not everyone can afford it. As far as saving on insurance premiums. Make SURE if you have a group plan you do NOT Go off it or you do not ever plan on getting private health insurance while you have the band. Im 7 months out and as of yet I have not found a private health insurance company to insure me with the band. I was denied before due to my weight. SO im on the TExas high risk health plan in which i pay $309 a month JUST FOR ME ! So dont count on being able to get insurance so easy after banding. If you dont have insurance now GET IT Before you get the band! As for financing. Most docs offices in Mexico have finance companies they use . Ok im registered for the 5K ! No backing out now ! OH and TX we can figure out a place to meet up . If your coming in the night before we can go to Run tex then and go to dinner or something ? I think the race is fairly early in the morning and run tex does not open until 10 . So it might be better to go in the am . And yes we have academy's here . Mindy

As time goes on we defiently get a feel for what we need to do . If i start to slow down I can go walk for 30 mintues and im not kidding the next day the scales moves . I dont track my calories anymore. And i wont . Unless its needed to see why im not loosing . As for the stuck episode. Be sure and tell your doc you had one last night, he might want to keep you on liquids longer after the fill ( if you have one) As for the pineapple juice and the papaya enzymes, I like the Enzymes better , i find it SO HARD To drink if im stuck , it hurts sometimes so bad. So i prefer the papaya Enzymes . They seem to work better too . The pineapple juice usually makes me PB if I am stuck. HTH Mindy

At 800 cals I was Hungry as hell and Not loosing at all ! Your calorie intake ideally should be from 1000-1200 calories a day . at 800 cals a day your body can go into Ketosis which is dangerous not to mention STINKY ! LOL Even before I had restriction My doc told me to get in as close to 1200 a day and when i started exercising 1000 was a MUST ! If you dont your body will go into starvation mode and you wont loose. Your not doing yourself any justice by cutting back . So EAT WOMAN LOL I agree with you on the scale though , I cant stay away either. I have to know if i have gained I manage to only weigh once a week !. But the first 2 months or so it was every day . Once you get restriction you should have it for much longer than a week. Mine lasts for around 6-8 weeks. Good luck . Do you have a larger band ? HTH Mindy

no no no ... ya gotta practice your healthy recipes on them how old are your kids ? If they are some what young get the "Sneaky Chef" Book and practice those, they are good for them and most are band friendly . So cook good stuff ! LOL Mindy

There is another 5 K in March Im hoping to be able to run the whole thing then , its the Star Flight 5 K here in Austin . Austin has LOTS of runs ! There is one somewhere close just about every weekend. STAR Flight 5K I WOULD LOVE to go to Mexico . but My first "skinny trip " is VEGAS BABY !! Mindy

ROFLMAO My husband thought i was loosing my MIND right before and after surgery , I watched the food network 24/7 ! Im glad to know im not the only who who did that ! I also did A LOT OF cooking believe it or not . I think i compensated for the fact I could not eat by shoving food in my families faces ! Mindy

The liquid diet was something I did not have to do . Hang in there though . where in Texas are you ? who is doing your surgery ? I was banded in San Antonio in July By Dr Rincon . So far so good. Hang in there its hard but you can do it . Mindy
