  3. That is one thing i am worried about is my BMI being too low. I did howver find out that PCOS ( polycystic ovarian syndrome ) which i have is a co morbidity for the insurance i want to get. Lulu you and i are exactly the same weight and height !
  4. Umm yeah I am thinking there will be a suit there for sure ! WOW !!!
  5. Really ?? I believe in the paper work i read it said WLS was excluded ? did it not say that in your paper work ? do you mind PMing me Rebecca ? Thanks
  6. Has anyone had any experience w/ the pre existing condition insurance through the govt paying for revision ( band to sleeve ) ? I Have heard some rumblings of it ? Anyone have this insurance and had the revision ? If so what was the process ? Thanks
  7. There seem to be a few .. I just filled out a questionnaire to see what its about . The one i found kind of seemed like they were going after the docs maybe ? But my situation at least is not the docs fault , in my opinion the band failure is the manufacturers fault . I should hear from them tomorrow so i will let you know what they say ?
  8. Just curious if anyone has looked into or joined a law suit for the bands ? Mindy
  9. Do you have to have good credit to qualify for this ? Or does the doc finance you himself ?
  10. I have a question ... before y 'all had your band removed did you get reflux often ? I am just now starting to get it off and on I am wondering if this is something i need to worry about . I have nothing in my band right now because its useless due to slips ?
  11. I have been talking to Susan . It does seem others are happy a couple years out . It seems w/ the band its a couple years out when the band starts having issues. I think it will be at least 6 months before I can get the surgery , I have a feeling im going to have to pay cash for it again , So I still have time to kind of wait it out . It took me over a year of research w/ the band to KNOW I could do it . The one thing i WILL Do differently this time is I will ( Im trying to start now ) work out . I should have started that from the begging w/ my band and I never did >!
  12. One thing that worries me , and I think the sleeve is a better option than the band for sure. However at the time we all had our bands it was " the best thing " I know I said after losing 125 pds it was the best thing i ever did ! I worry in a year or 2 will that change ? Does that make sense ? is this just the " latest and greatest" WLS so everyone is raving about it ? Thanks for your help Irene you look great BTW !!!
  13. I had my band done here, my band doc told me he would do it in 2 procedures. I think that maybe because he's concerned about the amount of scar tissue I have built up but he also i think does them all like that ? The condition Mexico is in right now that's not an option , its too dangerous ( no im not a paranoid person ) however I live in Texas and when people you know live there or lived there and they wont even go over there now, i wont LOL ) Im hoping when my husband gets his new job the insurance will pay for one or the ohter ? not sure ?
  14. Was your revision done in the US ? Im curious if it depends on the damage , if its a US vs Mexico thing to have them done in one or 2 steps ? Thanks for the link i asked to join .
  15. Hey girl. Yep I have been for well over a year now I guess. I Just dont talk about it much . Even my family doesnt know how much of an issue eating is. They see me eat and think I am eating too much again probably , which I may be but I think it has more to do what im eating then how much , and that's mainly becuase i just cant eat much solid foods w/ out pain .
  16. Also another question , for those of you who had the converstion dont in the US .. did you have 1 or 2 surgeries ? One to remove the band then one to do the sleeve or was it all done at once ?
  17. Thanks for your help y'all. I would love the link to the facebook group . I just feel like i cant eat normal meals, food now , Set aside bread rice pastas, I cant eat meat very well w/ out it hurting, I cant eat eggs, Must of anything, I have been considering becoming a vegetarian becuase i seem to have less issues with that at this point . Did anyone have this issue w/ their band before the VGS surgery ?
  18. I have had my band for about 6-7 yrs now. I initally did really well, model patient lost 125 pounds in 10 months. I went from 250 to 125 pounds . I was loving life etc ! The day I hit my goal weight i discovered I slipped my band. It was a pretty bad slip , had my band not moved back into place on its own I woudl have had to have surgery with in a couple hours .. Luckily It did . I waited a few weeks came back for another fill, in that time I had gained a little bit of weight. I did ok for about a year then started to have problems again , went back in found out my band had slipped again . By this time i did not have the money to go back for a fill , so i waited nearly a year to go back , In that time i gained about 40 lbs. When I finally went back for a fill i went back got a small fill w/ in a few weeks I was back having issues again , Found out ( long story short)My band is now worthless. The doc thinks scar tissue built up around my band and its not possible to fill it anymore. If he does It could cause my esphogus to close off. SO here I am a year or so laster 200lbs again and do not like to eat much because Its not comfortable. I dont admit this to many people but i dont eat " normal" foods because they hurt so I will then go eat high calorie, things like ice cream etc becuase it goes down easily. I am at this point tired of not being able to eat normal . Even w/ nothing in my band ! There is a possiblity if my husband gets the new job he wants soon , i could get my band converted to a sleeve in the next year or so , So i am just starting looking into this process. SO my questions are... 1. IF i get converted will my pain ful eating contiune ? 2. I have seen some people can have a hard time gaining weight after the sleeve ? 3. anyone who has gone from band to sleeve regret it ? 4. anyone glad they did and why ? Thanks so much Mindy PS I am also from Lapband talk years ago as coltonwade if anyone is from there lol !
  19. Hi all. Thanks for the email Alex. I am still around hanging on ! I had my lap band in 2007 Got to goal 125 pounds , the day I hit goal I slipped my band ! I had my band totally unfilled got it filled again after a few weeks and slipped it again ( we think it was not totally healed from the first time ) Then had it totally unfilled again . I went all of last year with my band unfilled . Gained 40lbs ! During that year I started having some issues w/ my stomach , joint pain , muscle aches, because I do not have insurance I cant get proper treatment. Some docs think I may have Crohns disease some think fibromialgia . So I went a long time w/ my band unfilled because I did not want to mess it up . Finally after gaining the 40lbs I decided enough is enough I cant do this anymore and went a few weeks ago to get a fill. I am down 11 pounds so far. I have always been sensitive to fills and I think what ever else is going on w/ me ( I Mainly have joint pain now ) is why I have always had sensitivity to fills . I have a son graduating from high school and was recruited to throw discus and shot at college this fall so lots going on ! So anyway , I am still around ! Looking forward to catching up ! Mindy
  20. I wrote him back , he wants you to adversitse your before and after pics for ANOTHER company . So basically they want you to use your pics from another doc to promote another docs its deceiving . I thought it might at first be for a "general" lap band deal or something . But its not its for lapband411.com . THEN He wanted me to send him my before nd after pics THEN he would send me a model release yeah I dont think so !!! RUN !!! Mindy I got this message from him : Hi Mindy...GREAT!! It's really amazing to see results like yours. I've had my own weight gain and loss issues but nothing like all the battles I've read about over the last two weeks. Lap-band is amazing and really happy for you. The ad is for a b4 & after, such as yours and it is for lapband411.com's future campaign. We would even love to have your energy shown through a short testimonial of how it has changed your life. Feel free to email me a good before and after showing the dramatic change and I'll provide the model/image release form. We will be selecting the final 3 individuals by monday, next week! Best email for sending attachments is matthewbsteiner@gmail.com as it allows for large image attachments.
  21. Feel free to email me about Dr Rincon . My email has changed, its mtolbert9201@gmail.com
  22. The fills will do that . Keep you ful longer and get you there faster. even fills that are not very much can help with that for a little while at least. I was not meaning you specificlaly . But alot of people you see post on here will post " I am not losing i have had one fill , or its been 2 weeks I have not lost any weight since my surgery " you have to have the fills to get the restriction , you have to have restriction for the band to work . It will come in time dont worry . Just try to be patient. Eat LOTS Of Protein , the protein will keep you full. HTH Mindy
  23. I agree with Chocolate. what people do not understand is you WILL LOSE your "Sweet Spot" . It will come and go as you get a fill and then lose weight you need another fill. Your TRUE Sweet spot does not come until your at goal and you can maintain, eat small portions and dont gain or lose. That is the TRUE Sweet Spot. I think people have this mis guided notion that they will get that ONE fill and that's it , your done. It does not ( at least for me ) work that way . If you lose the "Sweet spot" you have to "find" it again .
  24. Flouro/ barrium swallow the same thing. You might want to have him check your gallbladder just to be safe. I hope you figure out what is going on . It sounds like that you have a slip but he should have found it if he uses Flouro/ Barrium Swallow . <input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">
