I can tell you this now ... If you had told me before surgery that I could go 2-3 weeks on liquids i would have told you you were NUTS . NOW ... I could do a month on liquids with my hands tied behind my back. My post fill diet is 6 days liquids after EVERY Fill . Then 3 days mushies 3 days semi solids then solids. So I do liquids A LOT . Now Its "easy" for me given the right Protein shake , i could live on them LOL But if you had told me that before surgery i would have smacked ya LMAO We Adjust, we adapt to what we had to do . Things get "easier" and it becomes our way of life . Mindy

from someone who Plans on being a nurse one day ( sigh if i ever get my a$$ back to school ) I am curious about something. Since ya'll are nurses , for those of you who are , is there not a fine line between say giving advice as a patient and as a nurse ? What is considered giving out medical advice ? Does that make sense ? Basically what COULD you get in trouble for ? Mindy

I think that is great advice and something i personally need to remember myself as well when it comes to posting on here. I tend to just say " follow your docs advice' and tend to leave out the "hang in there you can do this " So I agree !! Thanks for the reminder Mindy

that's the thing that cracks me up though, We as " Vets " ya'll more so than I am try to tell others we have seen many many negative reports about Huacuz and WE are the liars we are the ones that cant back stuff up . All ya gotta do is search on here ! Mindy

We will agree to disagree. I do not come on this site to agrue. I come on this site to repay what was given to me which is educating people about getting safe WLS . Many newbies, people who do not spend a lot of time on the boards do not know what goes on and the dishonesty that goes on . You made yourself clear. Are we suppose to take your word for it that these things you saw with your own eyes ? WASA is simply suggesting , telling people to research ( as she always does) this doc and any other doc on here and THAT is where you can find the info negative . Sorry but maybe its me your last statement makes NO SENSE to me and ive sat here and read it for 5 mintues. People DO get very defensive about their docs and rightly so . however just because a statement is negative does NOT MEAN Its NOT TRUE !!! You have to understand , maybe this is something you do not know yet from being on here. There are coordinators that work for doctors that come on here and pose as fake patients, there are doctors that pose as patients and bash other doctors . So saying something like " i have seen it with my own eyes " honestly does not hold a lot of weight for someone who is fairly new to this site . That is not a dig at you im just trying to make you understand how others see it . Mindy

Again those are not statistics !!! That technically is also hearsay . statistics - definition of statistics by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia. You cant say you have statistics based on what "You have heard from patients you know ' THAT is not statistics. Statistics and first hand info are 2 different things if you want to get technical ! hearsay: Definition, Synonyms and Much More from Answers.com If you went into court and said " I heard from this patient that Dr H said blah blah " They would not let you repeat it its hearsay " Just trying to clarify . What Wasa is talking about are actual statistics ! #'s based on the amount of complications . Your arguing with her that she does not have that info because its NEGATIVE , But you do not have info either to back up your positive statements . Just trying to see things both ways. People cant sit here and get defensive because they hear something negative and automatically say " THAT"S NOT TRUE " because THEY had a good experience with a doc. Mindy

NO Honestly people are asking for PERMISSION !!! They are asking for permission to screw things up !! Not all but some newbies , all they have to hear is " SURE i did it you will be fine " And that is ALL The need to hear. So people coming on here saying that is DANGEROUS ! I dont get people paying money for surgery from a DOCTOR Then coming on a message board and asking MEDICAL ADVICE ?? CALL YOUR DOCTOR !!!! That's what we pay them for !!! Mindy

Im going through some personal stuff right now ( Not an excuse ) But I really need to start this again ! Im still working on my yoga but I could use the distraction of the couch to 5 K again . I take the bupropin (Generic ) twice a day and when i get really tight after a fill I cut it in 1/4 . I Hear ya on the not wanting to stop it , I did it last time to try luvox and it was NOT Fun, it was one of those things i didnt realize how WELL It was working until i was OFF it ! After my surgery i did not have any issues going off it . This last time my husband was about to put me in a institution so were my kids LMAO . I really like the Wellbutrin too , no side affects and just "evens" me out . Good luck you will be fine ! Mindy

For some people though its not normal. It can be a problem. My mom did not even know she should have BM's more than a few times a month until she had a problem with them . The issue my mom had almost and could have killed her, she was with in hours of her bowels rupturing. So if your having issues i would run it by a doc first . My doc wants me to try to regulate with my diet first then move to things like Benefiber or meds next. Personally if your not having a BM a few times a week something needs to be done and your doc needs to be contacted . Just my input mindy

Are you eating healthier than before ? if you are not having issues with BM's you might be getting in more fiber than before. My moms IBS causes constipation , Mine on the other hand causes uncontrollable diahrea FUN huh . Both issues my doc said , due to my mom's history can be serious if not regulated one way or another . Mindy

HOw far post op are you ? If its fairly soon you might want to talk to your doc. If its not you might still want to talk to your doc . This can be a symptom of IBS and it can cause some serious issues down the line. My mother was in the hospital for 3 weeks because her bowels almost ruptured due to an upper and lower bowl upstruction . This was caused in part from not being "regular' for many many yrs. She did not even know that it was not "Normal " to be regular. So my point , its not normal to not have a BM on a regular basis , so I would talk to your doc about it . I am having to try to get in more Fiber myself but with the limits in my diet,(NOt being able to eat Pasta, breads ect) It can make that difficult. so the next step is going to be meds. My doc said the same issue my mom had I could have since I too have IBS . HTH Mindy
