I'm so jealous!! I too am at my 3rd fill and was convinced this would be the one... I don't think it is  I just had the fill a day and a half ago so I'm still on blended foods, maybe when I eat some "real" food I will notice the difference. I WANT RESTRICTION!! I lost 50lbs in 4 months before surgery so I anticipated plateauing a little post surgery but knowing it and dealing with it are two different stories. ugh. Here I am though back on track... hopefully!

I have my 3rd fill on the 28th and I am desperate for it! The first two haven't done much. I have a good feeling about #3!
  4. hmm. I also had pretty painful gas that seemed to be in my pouch area. What I discovered was that I was inhailing just as I was drinking so i was swallowing air with the Water. Let me tell you this was a hard habit to break. I guess I was used to literally inhailing my food :tongue_smilie:. Once I retrained myself it got much better. Plus I find that just letting it out as soon as I feel like im getting gassy helps, not always socially appropriate but whatever :cool2:

I too am VERY hungry the past week or so, it's not heloping that I'm totally PMSing and I want to eat everything. Hang in there and be prepared for your 1st fill not making that much of a difference. My 1st fill made a difference for about 2-3 days then I was back to no restriction. Thankfully the place i go to will do a fill every 3 weeks and I plan on taking advantage of that as long as I need to. I thought my 1.5 hour drive to get a fill was far, 3 hours! 4-5 hours!! wowza! I hope things are easirer for you today Jadeite!
  6. Woo hOO!! Way to go! Easier than you thought right?! That was the case for me. Just wait until you can start really exercising, I bet the pounds are going to slide right off you!!!
  7. Hey there.. I work with a Dr. who had pretty major surgery last year and 2 weeks later he came back to work and spoke of how he became very depressed post surgery, which is not like him at all. He talked about it openly because he was concerned for himself. He said it was a reaction to the anesthia. It took him more than a month to feel back to his normal self. This is someone who has no history with depression. I'm glad you're seeing the Dr. that perscribed your meds. Depression and anxiety are no joke. I hope you get this all sorted out.
  8. I love love love me some Greek Yogurt! I've never seen a Krogers you all may not have these stores where you live but I find Chobani 0% fat at Hanaford, Shaws and Market Basket here in New England from .99 - $1.20. Fage is good too but I perfer the Chobani. As far as it resembeling sour cream, I agree. It's a bit bitter like sour cream (which I don't mind) but when you get the flavored (blueberry, strawberry, pommegranet, honey) it doesn't taste too bitter.
  9. SOOO how did everyone do?!! I'm ok, kinda sore today, not much gas pain..so far anyway hopefully if I haven't felt it yet I won't. My surgery went very well. Got to the surgery center at 12:30, surgery at 2:30 and home by 7:30 (with an hour and a half drive). I'm still pretty groggy so forgive this message :w00t: I just wanted to check in and see how everyone else did. I hope all is well with everyone!!!!! -Kate
  10. Hi Maria, My experience with Anthem was wonderful. Never did I think I would say such a thing about an insurance company but they were truely wonderful. It took my surgeons office quite a while to send the paperwork over to them but they finally got it on 12/23 and when I called on 12/28 (not realizing they had recieved it already) they said I had been approved on 12/24. So it took them 1 day to approve me. I have no co-morbids and had a starting BMI of 51... it is now 42. I dealt with Anthem out of Maine. I hope that helps!! Good luck next week you must be excited!!!
  11. Sheila, Thanks for the advise. I do have one question for you. What did you have to do in order to be discharged from SSC? Like drink so much Water or??? I'm anxious to go home that day but the RN at my pre op appointment said that because my surgery is the last one that day I should be prepared to stay... but that I wont necessaraly have to. Do you go to the Bariatric Center too? When did you get your first fill? I haven't met the RN over there yet just the nutritionists and social worker. -Kate
  12. Hello styms5!!! Finally someone from my neck of the woods . I'm having my surgery FRIDAY at the surgery center by Dr. Cobean. Who was your surgeon? How have you done? I hope all is well. -Kate
  13. WOW! Amazing!! Can I ask... how often do you exercise?
  14. The first couple of days were difficult. Expecially since I was a bit of a piggy over the holidays but I won't beat myself up about that because I lost 35 lbs since Sept and I'm sure I've lost since I started this pre op diet but I won't weigh myself until Friday. I've been exercising a few times a week for a while now and I hope to increase that post surgery. I mostly do the Ellipticle and once a weekish I do weights. I've been thinking about getting a Wii, let me know how it is! I am so anxious for this!!! What time is your surgery? I'm the last one of the day at 2pm and I'm having it done in Portland Maine. -Kate
