Hi My name is Sherylkay you asked what I am eating? its been 7 months for me. I am eating no carbs.. I can't eat bread, muffins, candy, bagels, oatmeal, or Pasta it makes me sick.. but, what I can eat are my cooked vegs.. no raw vegetables. I eat lots of soft eggs.. soup, salads with lite dressing.. I also drink a lot of Protein drinks. My meats are meatloaf turkey chicken fish lots and lots of fish.. I have become to like fish.. but, I have also found out that if any of your food is dry eat very small pieces of it. I also can only eat 4 oz. of meat. I hope this helps and good luck.. Sheryl

Today is April 30th the last day of month.. May 1st will be here tomorrow. I am looking forward to May 9th my first nutritional class. I am so excited to finally face my journey. I am so happy that I have all kinds of support here. I hope and pray that this will work for me.. as I pray that surgery will work for all of you that are here for the same reason. May 13 will be my physical and then the 20th of May is the big day. Well, I will be back with more news on the 9th of May. Hi I have read everyone's posts am I have finally decided that I will tell my four children and let them know what is going on with me but I also would love to have them understand that this is our privacy and our privacy only I'm nobody else's.

After reading everyone's comments I understand the pros and cons about telling your children or not telling your children. I do agree with telling your children that way you are not hiding your shame but on the other hand I do agree with not saying anything to a certain point. I think I have made up my mind by reading everyone's decisions that I have decided to tell my children and let them know what exactly is going on with their mother. I just don't think it's anyone else's business but our family. Thank you very much for all of your concerns and helping me decide what to do in this situation thank you.

I am with you I'm going through the surgery I have four kids I will not tell my kids I have told my husband my twin sister and then as the only two people that I have told. Maybe I'm selfish but I feel like it's nobody else's business but mine and if I do tell someone you're right it could get it could slip out and somebody else will know and that's not their business.

I didn't call at all I received a letter. The first letter I was turned down. My doctor turned it back in and I was turned down again. By the third letter I was also turned down and finally went to the border of review and had to write a letter and then I was finally approved.

I forgot to mention that I am getting the sleeve Gastrectomy.

I was so excited to go see the dr today and finally get my date. It's all set for May 20. 7:30 am My physical is May 13, 2013. At 4 o'clock. My Preoperative bariatric class is May 9, 3:30 - 5:30 It's finally all coming together. I will keep you all posted thank you for Following me with my journey. Sherylkay

Insurance companies are very strict. There are certain things that they look for. Such as how long you have been on your weight management how long you been losing weight how long it has been a struggle for you to lose weight.

Doxwifey. Yes, as long as they weigh you each time that will work. My insurance is BLUE CROSS AND BLUE SHEILD. I was turned down four times I finally had to go to the board of panel to state my case. The nurses were on my side I wrote something about myself how I needed this surgery and Waaloa I was approved. But it wasn't easy it took me a long long time.

I really do appreciate it. its taking me a long time to figure out this discussion works.. even though I have been a member for 3 years I still don't know my way around to replying back to everyone. But, I am getting the hang of it. I will check back on Tuesday and let everyone know when I get my date. Thanks for supporting me. We all need to stick together. I can't wait to post pictures.. Hi Everyone I have been a member of this site for three years now and I am finally approved. I will know April 23, 2013 when my Surgery date will be. I will keep everyone posted wish me luck.

Hi Everyone!I am very excited and nervous at the same time. I have been a member of this site since 2009. whoever thought of this is a genius. I finally get to express my feelings and say to the world that my journey has just begun. I have prayed to our dear lord Jesus asking him is it my turn yet? Yes, he finally told me."Yes Sheryl it's your turn" I was so happy when I received the news from my insurance company that I was approved. It is time to make a change. I have been pretty big all my life. and darn it I am sick of it.. I can't take this extra weight on me any longer. All things are possible.. right!! At least that is what people keep telling me.. It could happen and it will. " Well finally its going to happen. I go back to the Doctor's office April 23rd this Tuesday 2013. Someone once told me that life holds no promises. You must search and work for your own dreams. Well, I am taking chances and making my own choices. I have been given an opportunity to become the one person I have always wanted to become. (Me) finally I am going to step out of this fat person and find my way to freedom. life is a precious gift and I'm going to make it possible .
