  1. Rice gets me too. I didn't realize that other people were having the "slime." Good to know that is normal.
  2. Sorry to hear that you are so uncomfortable. It does get better. The pain in your shoulder is very likely gas pain. I had tons of that. I found that Gas-X strips helped a lot. I had a lot of trouble getting fluids down because it would all make me gassy. Dehydration can cause headaches, so that is a possibility for what you have been experience. Hang in there. I had my band on the 28th and am able to drink sufficient amounts of Fluid finally. The only pain I have now is at my port site, which is not surprising. Good luck. nicole
  3. I didn't want to take any more pills either, but the gas discomfort was awful. Gas-X makes a thin strip that has worked great. I'm on day 4 and starting to feel a little less bloated.
  4. I had my surgery the same day and have been wondering the same thing. I finally broke down and bought some Gas-X. That helped a little bit. I'm wondering though, how much discomfort is normal or am I drinking my liquids to fast?
  5. Great post. What an inspiration. I have a BMI of nearly 35 but also have severe HTN, so I am going for the band end of August. I feel a little uncomfortable in the waiting room with the other candidates, but I try to remember that they don't know about my state of health. I'm very hopeful to get off the meds and your story really helped. Thanks.
