I had been thin my whole life until I turned 40.  I had lost all the pregnancy weight after my kids, so I can't blame pregnancy.  At 40, I weighed 118, but my weight started a very steady climb from that moment on.  This year I will turn 50, and my weight had skyrocketed to 204.  Unwilling to spend my 50s fat I decided to do something about it.  On August 7, 2009, I had lapband surgery and it's the best thing I have ever done for myself.  I have lost 23 lbs the first month and I feel amazing. but mostly what I feel is hopeful!  I had tried and failed to lose weight so many times that I didn't really think I could do it anymore. Now I absolutely know that I can.As far as my health, I have already been taken off my blood pressure medicine and my GERD medicine.
