  1. Hi guys! Its been like a year and a half since I posted. I got banded sept 09 and just did not do what I was suppose to do and as a result no weight loss. I fell off the lap band wagon hard and am trying to dust my self off and reassert myself. Last week I got a fill (which is my 3rd fill in almost 2 years) and have been disciplined. No sugar or soda for the past week and have been subing meals for protein shakes and walking and extremely limited carbs. I stepped on the scale and not one pound lost even with just liquids at the beginning of the week! I expected at least 2 lbs! I was wondering if this has happened to anyone and I know it takes longer than a week to lose but I just want to feel that its not just me that feel this way and I want to know what some of u did who fell off but got back up and how the weight loss went. I don't want to give up again I want to prosper and hear goo progress from people who once though like me! Please no negativity- I beat myself up enuff!
  2. Hi guys- I have a question, I have had my band since sept, 25 and have only managed to get one fill but I'm due for my second fill in 2 weeks. I have noticed this week just yesterday I don't feel any restriction any more. It's like all of a sudden. On Sunday- I had that early morning tightness as well as Monday but yesterday- I just didn't have it. Do you guys think that could mean that there is a complication like erosion? Today I went to Ihop and ate and literally felt no restriction--please comment because this is scaring me!
  3. i agree 100% with u. im beginning week 3 and am starving all the time because i have no restriction. thats y i got the band- was for restriction and i didnt know it takes 3 or 4 fills to get it right either and sometimes i dont know what to do! it would be nice to at least feel full---talk about bandster hell!
  4. Okay guys- in all honesty, i am having a hard time with this mushy stage. i am tired of baby food consistency because it makes me nauseous. i hate cream soups and i don't know if i can stomach to many more protein shakes. has anyone else started eating more solid but soft foods like salmon and mushy spiniach or soft wheat pasta. please- no judgement posts, just people who have actually battled this cause i don't want to mess up my lap band and i need help!
  5. Okay guys- i am postop day 3. i had my surgery on wednesday. i do find that the more i walk the better i feel but there still seems to be a pain the creeps up the middle of my stomach that freezes me in my tracks! I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced this and for how long. and two more things- what is the most comfortable sleeping position and how can i get in 64 oz of water and protein without overdoing it becuase it's hard for me to get down 16 oz without feeling full. HELP!!
  6. Is anyone else other than me losing a small amount of weight during the pre-op? I hear so many people talking about 20 and 25 lbs lost during pre-op but I've only lost 4 lbs and its been almost 2 weeks! my surgery is this coming wednesday 9/23. Just wondering if this is just me.
  7. Im sorry if there was a thread on this but I didn't see it. I was just wondering if anyone else has a very hard time using anything sweetened with splenda, sweet-n-low, and equal. Im trying to figure out if there is actually a good artifical sweetner because these three make me sick every time I try to drink or eat anything with them in it! Any suggestions?
  8. Congrats on the wedding, hopefully those pounds will fall off!
  9. thanks for the encouragement guy! i feel a lot better!!:blushing:
  10. I live with my brother and just confirmed to him that I would be doing lap band on 7-23-09. And he is mad. he says he doesn't support lap band but he'll support me. We're both obese and he's bigger than me by 100 lbs! I'm 250 and he's like 360 but tall. I'm trying not to be too sad but he's my closest support system. He thinks I'm being lazy and giving up because I'm doing the lap band and not losing weight the normal way but it's not working for me! Any body going through the same thing or have an encouraging word?
