Hey everyone. Well I've been banded for a little over a year and I guess the discouragement is starting to hit me. I thought in a year I would lose over 100 lbs just like a lot of the stories I read on this site, but...I haven't. I realized from my surgeon and doctor that the weight comes off slowly but I guess after I hit a plateau that I couldn't conquer for months and months, it's hard to keep going on the right track. I have realized recently that I am having major acid reflux and heartburn that is most likely signaling that my band is too tight. I am very nervous about having fluid taken out just because of the fact that I haven't lost any weight in a while. I don't want the fluid being taken out to end up making me gain back any weight that I have lost. I guess I'm just looking for some encouragement to know that not everyone loses 100 lbs the first year...or is it just me? I have started back on my healthy diet and exercising regiment again so hopefully that will kick start everything for me. I wish you all the best of luck and thanks for reading this!

Hi everyone! I was just banded on December 29th, 2009 and I'm makin it through the pain! Still hurting from all the gas they inflated my stomach with but I'm making it! Everyone is such a huge encouragement to me and I'm so excited!!!!

I love the Alpine Apple Cider and had no idea they made sugar free so thanks for that!!

Yes my mints are definitely sugar free and they are very strong so I love them!!

I was told by my surgeon that chewing gum is not a problem but if you accidentally swallow it then they will have to surgically remove it so I got addicted to mints!!

I wanted to say that all of you guys that have had your surgeries are great inspiration to me!! I am just now starting my pre op stuff and I'm so excited!! I'm from Charlotte, NC and I'm 21. I actually already went through hair school so I've been out of college for a while but still wanted to say hi!!
