NSV shout outs
I saw an acquaintance that I hadn't seen in months today and said "Hi Jerry" as I walked past him. About 15 mins later he walked up to me and said "Where do I know you from?" He actually didn't even recoginze me at all. We both had a good chuckle after I told him who I was. lol

Six months out
Well, I can hardly believe that six months have passed. It really does go quickly. I'm down 74 lbs. yaaahooooo. I feel fantastic. I have about 30 more lbs to go and I'm very determined to get there. I'm not quite so strick as I was in the beginning but still working hard at it. I pretty much eat anything now. Dr Aceves said I could start eating salads now which thrilled me to death. Drinking is much easier than it was in the beginning. I can pretty much drink normal now. I haven't had any problems eating anything and have never thrown up or gotten sick from anything I've eaten. I do try to get protiens in first, then veggies and maybe a bite or two of anything else that will fit in. I can eat about 3 oz now which is up from 2 oz from the first 4 months. I can now tell when I'm full and stop right away. To all the people just starting this journey, hang in there....it really does work.

You are doing great. It always cheers me up to see one of my sleeve bandits doing so well. Keep up the great work. I hate the stalls too, and seem to have them periodically. Hope all is great your way. :001_tongue:

Hiccups when full
I was warned before I had surgery that hiccups when full is one of the side effects of this surgery. Does anyone else do this? Does it ever go away? The minute my tummy gets full...I do one or two loud hiccups. It's a bit embarassing. :confused1:

No appetite at all.....
Wanted to update. Those feelings of forcing myself to eat have passed. Food doesn't taste so awful anymore. I went through this phase for about 6 weeks and now it's passed. I am eating regular now and not feeling like I have to force it down. I still can only eat about 2 1/2 onces at best but at least now it tastes ok. We really do go through different phases with the sleeve, but it's all been great. I'm still losing very slowly but headed in the right direction.

Anyone scheduled for sleeve with Dr. Aceves the week of Jan 18th - 22nd.
My suggestions woud be to follow your doctors orders to a T. There's a reason that they give them to us. I see where many people try to advance the eating stages and it can cause issues and harm to your sleeve. I also suggest to constantly be drinking and sipping. It's really hard to get in all the fluids we should have. At first you have to take pretty tiny sips and your tummy will make weird noises, but later on it gets easier to drink. Now I can drink normal. In the beginning I couldn't really tell when I was full, so I measured everythng I ate. I was allowed 2oz or 1/4 cup per meal, and that's basically what I ate. Sometimes after eating I would feel a weird feeling in my throat, but not the normal full feeling from past days. Now I don't need to measure much anymore as I can tell what portion size is correct. I also have the normal full feeling now in my stomach, however it took a few months before I had that feeling. I still am only able to eat about 2 to 2 1/2 onces per meal. If you follow the rules, you will be successful with your sleeve. I pretty much eat anything I want now. I try very hard to keep my Calories between 600 - 800 per day and my carbs at 30 or lower. Good luck, and keep us posted on how you are doing. If you have any more questions, just ask. You'll find tons of great people and advice on this board. Barb:biggrin0:
