  1. I have a date for april 22. I am super excited after fighting with insurance for so long its finally coming. I'm definately worried about the liquid diet two weeks prior to surgery!!!!! I know this is silly but I am concerned about excess skin, I of course would rather be skinny and have excess skin then fat but if I do have it I just hope I can hide it. I read on here there are a few people getting banded on the 22nd you will have to keep me posted on how your doing. Best of luck to all of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Hey everyone, I have been fighting with my insurance company since september 09 to be approved for insurance. I have a weight history since 99' but I did lose weight for a short period of time within the past two years and I do have a comorbidity. They say that since I have not had a BMI of above 35 for two consecutive years that they do not want to approve me. The period of time that my BMI was low was only a few months. Now my surgeons team is going through lap band and obese law to attempt to overturn their denial. Has anyone else have to use obese law to get approved?
  3. tbird- thank you so much for your input i will def ask those questions the next time i see my surgeon.
  4. I just found out today that I have a tentative date of December 7th but will have to move it to the 14th do to the amount of sick time that i have. How long are you all planning on taking off of work for and what kind of work do you do? The closer i get to the reality of having the surgery the more questions pop up, anyone have a list of the questions they asked there surgion. I wish everyone the best of luck and we will have to keep tight and keep eachother encouraged
  5. Hey Erin I have had my tongue pierced for a while and had to take it out for another surgery and never had a problem. I can keep mine out for months and put it back in with no problem. I just started my journey and didnt even think about the stuff that I'm going to have to get where are the shopping list forums.
