  1. I had the bra problem too. I bought a sports bra that was a little small so it stayed high and kept "the girls" from resting on the incisions. Sometimes I would wear my normal bra and the sports bra over it. I did have a problem with the stitches on my middle incision and the doctor had to dig them out at my first fill. It healed up within days after.
  2. Oh I love the Slim Fast Cappachino! I think they are just as good as a Starbucks Frapachino. I posted this recipe on another thread but it was/is my fav so I will share it again! 1/4 nonfat plain yougurt, 1/2 banana, 1 tablespoon sugarfree chocolate syrup, 1 tablespoon light peanut butter and a scoop of protein powder. Super Yum!!!!! If it is too thick add some nonfat milk.
  3. I understand! I always keep a novel going. When I feel like emotional eating I just pick it up. Also, I get up and dance with my 2 year old son instead of eating. It is such fun and reminds me why I was banded. I want to live a long healthy life to be a good Mommy. Plus, it was hard to dance and play with him at 299 pounds. Kinda a reminder....ya know...look what I can do now! Instead of a milkshake maybe try a smoothie? My favorite was peanut butter, banana and chocolate. I would blend up 1/4 cup of plain nonfat yougurt, half a banana, 1 tablespoon of sugarfree chocolate syrup, 1 tablespoon of light peanut butter and a scoop of protein powder. It ends up being more than I could eat but my son would steal half of it anyways! Using a spoon helped to and lots of protein!
  4. My best experiences at restaurants is going with friends. Usually the conversation makes the meal last at least 30 minutes or longer!
  5. I have no idea. Please keep us updated.
  6. Since my last adjustment I hate making dinner for my family. I work with kids right now and by the time I get home from work I am exhausted. I don't always feel like eating. I guess I have this attitude that why slave over dinner just so I can eat 5 bites? Latley my husband has just been making MacNCheese or some other quick meal for himself and our 2 year old son. My husband is one of those people that can eat anything and not gain any weight but I worry that we are setting my son up for failure in the food department. He eats very well balanced meals at the CDC but I worry that we are failing. Any suggestions on getting rid of my bad attitude  would be much appreciated. Also any easy family meal ideas?
  7. I also do the Centrum chewables but when I was in the States I used a great liquid vitamin I got from a local health food store. It was awesome! It came in a bottle that you squeeze and it fills up the top, kinda like mouth wash bottles. It has to be refridgerated but that made it easier to remember to take. Whenever I opened to fridge to get milk for my son or a bottle of water it was right there in front so I would take my dose and go onto whatever I was doing.
  8. Thanks! I have been diagnosed with Celiac for a little over five years now. I Love Bob's Red Mill mixes. They have them at the commissary so the are easy for us to get. German markets have alot of stuff too, but not all I can eat with my band. Does your Mom have any GF recipes that are band friendly?
  9. I have Celiac Disease which means I can't eat gluten (wheat, barley, rye and oats). Just wondering if anyone else has any food allergies and meal suggestions for me? I am getting sick of the same old, same old.:cool2:
  10. Leggs has some great ones for around 6 bucks. I love the ones I wear because they go to my knees and all the way up to my bra line so no muffin top! I like to wear them because I have lost so much weight in my mid section I have alot of skin hanging down. Dang Gravity!
  11. Totally normal. I am pretty new here so I don't know if this happend to others but I didn't feel any restriction until I was at 4.5 ccs. That was 4 fills!!!! Ugh, I was so mad. Even then 4.5 wasn't much restriction. Everyone is different I guess? I have great restriction now that I am at 8ccs. My doctor here in Germany is very different than mine was in the States and approaches fills in a totally different way. Ok...now that I stole your post I will tell you that you CAN DO THIS!!! I looked at myself in the mirror every morning when I was in the same phase as you, said "You can totally rock this girl!", gave my botty a nice pat and made it through the day.
  12. I did not get any saline in my band until a month after my surgery. Even then it was only 1 cc. I still lost weight that month because of the liquid diet they had me on. Stick to the diet your doctor gave you and you should be fine.
  13. I too, love my band. My one year anniversary will be in a few weeks and I have lost 85 lbs. You have to follow the rules, listen to your body and chew chew chew!
  14. Hey Tina! We are in the KMC too! Stationed at Ramstein but live off base. I was referred to Prof. Weiner in Frankfurt. He is fabulous! I kind of wish I had waited to have had my surgery in Germany by him. I appreciate that he picked up right where my US doctor left off...he just accerlated things a bit more than they did in the States. PM me if you want my info. I really wish I had had a pal going through the same thing as me when I had the surgery done.

  16. Thanks for the warm welcome! I am down to 223 as of this morning. It feels great! I was looking at pics of myself the other day from May 2008 at my highest weight of 299. I can't help but be really proud of myself, not vain, but proud....ya know?
  17. I have the strangest problem with my band. I am one of those people who when I have a cold or my allergies are acting up my drainage goes down my throat. I do everything I can to keep this from happening but it does. Then when I eat I throw up like crazy. It is usually just the drainage but sometimes it is everything in my stomach. Is this common? Any advice?
  18. Hello! I was looking for a place to get some advice and share experiences. My one year anniversary is coming up soon. It has been an interesting year. I had my surgery in Little Rock Arkansas and a few months later my family and I moved to Germany. I was on filled to 4.5 ccs when I left the States and did not feel much restriction. I had lost 40lbs though. I got a referal to a German doctor a couple of months after I got here. The fill experience was very different as the put me in front of a Xray and doubled the amount! Talk about a huge difference! I look forward to getting to know you all!
