  1. Had my band fill with x ray today at Spire in Manchester.
  2. Lots of options there for me, thank you so much. I had 4cl fill today, piece of cake! LOL I wish! Complan here I come, specially before bed.
  3. Just what I need, can I join in too. It's not much fun hoofing it on my own although my 15 yr old daughter has literally pushed me out to walk recently. I go gym as in treadmill , cross trainer and recumbent bike ans walk around a gorgeous lake locally. does any or all of this apply? If so I'm up and running from today, well walking, running is a future goal. Good to see you all moving too Realistically I will set my August goal at 50 miles.
  4. Hi, I'm due my first band fill this Friday and wondered if anyone has any ideas for either home made or ready made nutritional drinks I can use for the liquid stage? Apart from liquidised fruit or veg juice, I'm at a loss here so any help will be greatly appeciated. Thanks

Hello :sneaky: I was banded 27 June and lost 15lbs in the first week and only 6 since. My first fill is on Friday so we're at the same point too. Seems to me we're a good gang to go through this together.
  6. I do the exercise to get that feel good feeling after. I don't go crazy with it because I have bad knees but I walk 2 miles a day and gym 3 times a week. Also considering swimming when I can take the plunge to wear a swimsuit. Whether or not it contributes to my weight loss is consequential, it certainly contributes to my feel good factor and my knees don't creak so much either. If I labelled it as exercise I'd never do it, this is my time for me and makes me feel great! Happy walking x
  7. That is such good news. Exactly what I'm dreading though but we shall see what they find. It seems ages since I had the band fitted but have my frst fill this Friday, all being well.
  8. I only lost 21 lbs so far and one pair of my trousers fell to my knees when I stretched high in a shop recently. I long for new undies though but will have to get them in and ready me thinks! LOL
  9. This is like deja vu for me LOL Been there felt all those things and 1month post op 21 lbs down and feeeling great and looking forward to my first band fill. It's a good club to join and the only changes in personality must surely be more self confidence and better self esteem.
  10. Hi, I could eat anything but if it doesn't fit into a normal size coffee cup I can't eat it. How long did you wait for you fill?
  11. Hi, due my first fill on August 7 and dreading it to be honest. Longing for it because 3 weeks post op I am now feeling hunger again but dreading I'll get there and the band slipped, the port flipped or whatever else might have occured while I've been eating mush and slush  Will get myself in a right state waiting for it but maybe the worry will help me lose some more before I get there. who knows????
  12. I didn't even wait, within 12 weeks of being referred I was banded and am now 3 weeks post op. Bury PCT at the beginning of their financial year, I think I just got lucky.
  13. Heparin is standard practise in the UK I believe for 7 days post op.
  14. Saffy thanks for this, and everyone of course. I am in UK also and on full sick pay with the full support of my managers. The GP recommended I have 6 weeks off but I just got another note for 2 weeks and reckon I'll be back by the end of July. I do keep getting yellow bruising appearing though around the port wound
  15. Hi everyone, good to see the fifties group here. I am looking forward to getting to know you soon. I'm 17 days post op and doing fine but have a technical problem on the site. How DO I add my weight loss ticker to my signature, can anyone assist please? Thank you, Louise
  16. Had my band on June 27 and I'm still off work and I work from home sitting all day. It's the sitting I can't do for long periods and I do 10 hour shifts. My GP has asked me to stay off until I have my 6 week check with the surgeon but I don't think that will happen!
  17. Hi, I'm on the liquidised diet still having had my band with no fill fitted on June 27. I love to liquidise tinned fruit in juice and have it with yogurt, it goes down easy and is tasty. I also managed fish in cheese sauce we have here with mashed potatoes and spinach. I even managed to liquidise home made lasagne, low fat version and without the garlic bread of course. I'm having lots of frozen veggies with quorn fillet, a meat/chicken protein substitute. Next week I get to mash rather than liquidise, oh what joy! :tongue_smilie: good luck , Louise x
  18. I can't believe this place and you people and the wonderful advice you're giving. I was banded on June 27 and my first fill will be on August 12. I now feel normal. I'm eating well considering I am 4 cups, as in coffee cup size, of food a day and free fluids. I am losing, 15 lbs so far but what a joy to find you all. I hope I can also contribute so positively before very long, Louise x

Hi Pris, I'm very new to this but have already been having quorn, a meat substitute which is purely protein. Here we can buy this from the regular supermarket from the freezers. I know I will be eating it when I get to chew in a few weeks, oh my teeth and brain can't wait hehe. I'm sure you can find something similar that would suit your taste, good luck Louise
