  1. I had the same symptoms( heartburn, throwing up) I had my band redone. I am fine now, but it was worse than the initial op. I have lost all my weight, but a lot of it was from throwing up for almost a year. :Angel_anim:
  2. Wow, I guess we have them in every family. I did have complications (band slipped). I had surgery Monday to clear it up. If my kids knew about this, they would just think I did it to myself. OMG, this second surgery was much worse than the first. I think the dr. wanted to make sure it doesn't do that again. With all that being said, they will NEVER know, so I don't have to be critisized for doing this.
  3. I did see a neuro surgeon. Since mine is in the thoracic area, it cannot be operated on. I get either a nerve block, or epidermal every 2 or 3 months. BTW, it took about 5 doctor's to finally figure my problem out. Good luck!
  4. I only told my dh and sister. i did not want my kids to know in case their was a problem. well, I DO have a problem. I am going Monday to have another operation for a slippage. If my children knew, they would just think this was all my fault, and I did it to myself. For me, it was the right decision. Cathy
  5. I have a slippage. I had much heartburn and vomiting. I am at my goal weight. I am very afraid he will have to remove it. I am so afraid after this 1 1/2 years, I will gain that weight back. I wonder what the percentage of people who just have to remove it, and do they gain their weight back. I am very nervous. I am having this monday. My Dr. insisted I have it today, but i had too many prior commitments, and i have been having problems for months now, so why hurry? Anyway, I will keep you posted. Please say a little Prayer for me. I am at peace even if he DOES have to remove it. NOT HAPPY ABOUT THAT possibility though. Cathy
  6. I had surgery a year and a half ago. i had a hernia repair at the time. I have recently been having MAJOR GERD. I don't know what to do now.
  7. Ok, this probably has NOTHING to do with yours, BUT I also had pain there. they did many many test. I was finally diagnosed with a herniated disc in my thoracic area, which has nerves coming around to right below my rib cage. It is strange, but it can affect that area. Like i said, It is PROBABLY not your problem, but others might read this and recognize it. also, it can make pain on either side.
  8. I have a few back problems, BUT I had told ONE trusted friend, then saw them at a restaurant, and her hubby shouted"I hear you are having that surgery. I am now trying to back paddle. I told her it was cancelled, due to still too much back pain! I am now retelling her, I am having a nerve block fror my back. She probably knows, but will never be sure. it also helped that the surgeon postponed it!! I hate to be deceitful, but she has broken my trust! Cathy
  9. My DH is supportive on anything I choose. it is only 5 days till lapband, and i am REALLY getting the jitters. I am self pay, and do not want any complications that will bankrupt us. (YIKES) Does anyone know any statistics about how often these things have to be removed? Why, and Also, How often they get infected, and how much does it run to remove them, if you have problems. I know I am getting to be a scaredy cat! Cathy
  10. BTW, I have been Port Huron, Absolutely BEAUTIFUL town!! Cathy (6 more days)
  11. josette, good for you!! I am very sorry for your loss. Losing my mother was the most traumatic thing i have ever been thru, and she was 77. hang in there. I am looking forward to seeing mine in heaven again! Cathy
  12. I am having my lapband August 14th. I am happy to join the August Club!! (but a little scared) Cathy
  13. :omg: 6 more days for me, and i am getting jittery. How did everyone do with their fluid only diets. I am having a hard time, cause I hate cream of wheat!! Cathy SIX MORE DAYS!!
  14. Wow, as a newcomer, and furture bander (8/14) What are some things that are EASY to go down? Cathy
  15. I am having lapband done in 3 weeks, and i am now getting afraid. My insurance does NOT pay at all. I have saved and saved to have this done. I now read that it does not work too much of the time and it will cost me a lot more. Very discouraged! Cathy
